The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is probably one of the most anticipated smartphones to arrive this year. People are very eager to see it because it is the next model after the fire-prone Galaxy note 7. Last year’s Note smartphone is pretty messed up. The device was even recalled worldwide after several instances of fires.

Galaxy Note 8, company’s only hope

Fans are expecting to see impressive features on the Note 8 so that it can at least bring back the reputation of the company’s “Note” line. The company is expected to launch the device on August 23, 2017 in New York City, but it is suspected to hit the store shelves not earlier than September 15, 2017.

As the release date of the smartphone draws nearer, more rumors, and speculations on what the device may offer continue to circulate online.

The Galaxy Note 8 represents the company’s latest chance to redeem its market credibility following last year's disastrous and costly launch of the Galaxy Note 7, which had a global unit recall after numerous overheating and fire problems linked to battery defects. Airline companies even took a serious step and banned the Galaxy Note 7 from its flights.

Rumored specs and features

According to a report from ValueWalk, some marketing materials from the South Korean company have been leaked. The leaked details suggest that the Galaxy Note 8 will sport a dual-lens camera.

The camera will offer 3x optical zoom.

The company will also improve the low-light performance of the smartphone, as well as the speculated augmented reality application that might allow the users to measure the height and distance of the subjects by using the camera. Its new camera might even beat Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus.

Samsung will also adapt to a smooth, clean and beautiful infinity display, which is why the company will remove the physical home button of the device.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus already adapted to this design. The back portion of the Note 8 will look like the S8, but rumors claim that the position of Note 8’s fingerprint sensor has been improved.

New 'Find My Mobile' application

The device is rumored to have a 6.2-inch display screen. The Galaxy Note 8 will also include a new and improved stylus pen.

The new stylus pen is said to have a built-in device that works with the “Find My Mobile” application to help users locate their smartphone in case it is misplaced. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to include Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 chipset that will be bundled with a 6GB of RAM and a 3,300 mAh battery cell. The battery is slightly smaller compared to the Galaxy S8 Plus’ 3,500 mAh battery.
