After withdrawing the OxygenOS 4.5.7 due to some game shutter problem, OnePlus has now started to roll out the 4.5.8 update for its flagship killer - OnePlus 5. The key highlight of this new update is that it comes with Electronic image stabilization (EIS) for 4K Video recording, which several OnePlus 5 users have been complaining of lately. Further, the Software Update comes with a few improvements, along with some bug fixes.
Most of the features and improvements that the new update brings to the OnePlus 5 are quite similar to that of the OxygenOS 4.5.7 update which the company rolled out earlier this month.
But, withdrew it soon after. This is after some users started complaining about game shutter issues. However, with the OxygenOS update, this issue has now been resolved.
Features OxygenOS 4.5.8 brings to OnePlus 5
OnePlus took to its official consumer forum to post about the official roll out of the software update. The company mentioned, “OxygenOS 4.5.7 was withdrawn, we are pushing out the incremental roll-out of OxygenOS 4.5.8 OTA for the OnePlus 5 instead.” The software update brings new features, alongside some improvements and bug fixes to OnePlus' new flagship phone. The software update brings along the all new OnePlus' Slate font. Further, it also lets OnePlus 5 users record 4k video with EIS on.
Some reports claim that OnePlus 5 users have been complaining about the missing image stabilization feature on the phone. But, with the new software update, OnePlus has solved all issues.
The OxygenOS update further brings some improvements to the OnePlus 5. It brings improvements to the Wi-Fi connection and also the standby battery mode.
Alongside these improvements, users also get a few bug fixes as well. The new software update fixes the issues that some OnePlus 5 users have been complaining of for a while like – the occasional sound leaks in the speakers while using earphones. It basically improves the ear piece sound quality with the new software. It further brings a few more bug fixes like – increases the camera shutter sound for the Indian regions, and reduces the occasional shutters that occurred while playing games.
Further, Reliance Jio users faced battery issues. With the new software update, OnePlus fixes the battery drain problem as well.
When will you get the new software update?
With the new OxygenOS update also brings Android security patch level to 1st July 2017 to the OnePlus flagship killer. The software update is already available to a few users and the company is said to roll out to the public eventually, claims OnePlus. “As always, this OTA will be incremental. The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we'll begin a broader roll out in a few days,” writes the company on its official blog post.
