Lenovo-owned Motorola recently made an official announcement confirming that the company will be unveiling the Moto X4 smartphone – also identified by many as the fourth-generation Moto X handset – at an event in Sao Paulo Brazil at the end of August. The primary highlight of the smartphone will undoubtedly be its rumored dual rear camera set-up. Unfortunately, the company hasn't revealed much else at this time.

Release of the device soon

According to a Report published by IBT, Lenovo-backed Motorola had started sending out event invitations to the press earlier this month. It was later that the company through several sources in this field confirmed that the event invite is for the official unveiling of the highly-anticipated Moto X4 smartphone. The device holds significant importance for Motorola in the smartphone sector, especially because the device falls into the high-end category and is expected to take on major flagships such as Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Apple iPhone 8 as well. Motorola – as can be noted – has been on a launching spree for a very long time.

The company this year, has already introduced several smartphones under its Z, G, E and C line-up.

Design, specs plus features

Coming back to the Moto X4 smartphone; the device is heavily rumored to sport a metal body – similar to most of the Motorola-branded devices. Apart from this, the smartphone may boost an ergonomic design, with slim rounded edges and a bump in the middle, in order to provide its users with the best kind of grip. The smartphone is further expected to be covered with a 3D glass cover on the front panel to ensure maximum protection against external factors.

Moreover, the device is also going to equip the IP68 certification, thereby ensuring that the smartphone remains safeguarded against dust and water.

The Moto X4 smartphone is further expected to come packed with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 system-on-chip and on the storage front, the device might offer 4GB of RAM alongside 32GB of internal storage. There will be another variant that will offer 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone will house a 3,000mAh battery and will run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system as well. The device will sport a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP and 8MP rear shooter along with a 16MP front sensor as well. Stay tuned for more news and updates on technology and entertainment.
