Earlier this week, LG confirmed that they will be introducing their V30 high-end smartphone on August 30Th, during the annual Ifa event that is scheduled to be held in Berlin, Germany. The company already made mention of some of the key features of the upcoming smartphone. According to what they mentioned, the smartphone is going to feature a 6-inch P-OLED display. With the launch of the LG V30, LG will have officially forayed into the OLED display market.
The last bunch of devices that the company launched with OLED display panels was way back when they introduced the G Flex and G Flex 2 smartphones. However, apart from this, not much is known about the upcoming smartphone.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
Leading rumors and speculations have suggested plenty and on the basis of these leaks, it is surmised that the upcoming LG V30 smartphone is going to look a lot like the LG G6 smartphone, which was introduced to the market earlier this year. The company is going to opt for the 18:9 aspect ratio display, thereby pushing the device into the phablet category.
Apart from this, Android Headlines wrote that the smartphone is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip, along with added support with 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage.
Features and specs
Users will possibly be provided with the option of expanding the memory up to 128GB if they’d like, through the smartphone’s microSD card-slot option. The smartphone is also expected to come in a special 32GB ROM storage option. The LG V30 device is also expected to sport a dual rear camera setup, and a fingerprint scanner located right next to it. The power buttons will also be located on the rear panel of the smartphone. The smartphone is expected to run on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system, and it’s possible that the device might receive the yet-to-be-launched Android O update alongside it.
There were many reports in the recent past that suggested that LG might eliminate the idea of a secondary display in the favor of something called a ‘Floating Bar.’ The floating bar will contain all the basic features such as the notifications panel, weather, time and date – whatever the secondary display would essentially consist of. As far as the pricing of the smartphone is concerned, the device is expected to be available for a price of $700. However, this hasn’t been confirmed by the company as yet so it still remains to be seen exactly what the price and final specs will be.
