LG has announced software-centric features of the upcoming UX 6.0+ expected to be integrated with the LG V30 smartphone. Touted to be the advanced version of the LG UX, the new UX 6.0+ has been optimized to work efficiently with the rich and vibrant 18:9 OLED FullVision display. Moreover, the new UX also provides several customization options to enable users to experience an immersive Work Life.
The LG V30 will be equipped with an OLED FullVision display coupled with an advanced dual camera system. According to LG, the new UX 6.0+ is exclusively designed to take advantage of the advanced capabilities of the smartphone.
Integration of floating bar
It is to be noted that the LG V30 will not ship with a secondary display similar to that of the LG V10 and V20. However, the company has integrated new floating bar using which users will be able to access frequently used functions and options. It is also possible to drag the floating bar off the display in case it is not required. As you can see, the user is not compelled to use the specific bar but can activate it if required.
In addition to the display of the clock, the Always On Display (AOD) can also be used to showcase quick tools and music player. It is possible to display either personal photo or any other image of your choice.
Unlocking features
With UX 6.0+, it is possible to unlock the handset via front-facing camera using the Face Recognition capability.
You can unlock the phone even while the display is switched off. The new UX also provides an ability to use a combination of voice and self-generated keywords to unlock the device.
In a statement released to the press, the LG disclosed that haptic feedback on the LG V30 can be easily customized with several integrated combinations of vibration, which can be matched to the ringtone of the handset.
Camera improvements
Talking about the camera, Graphy can be accessed in the manual mode including the capability to pick an image from the portfolio of professional shots. It consists of various styles and can download images captured by professionals. It is also possible to apply metadata presets such as shutter speed, aperture, white balance and ISO.
The new UX 6.0+ also brings in a wide range of shooting modes such as snapshot, gridshot, auto, and matchshot. These options are grouped under a single menu for simplicity. It is possible to quickly create GIFs from within the Gallery menu. The Create Movie option enables you to create new movie videos using either images or video files. Furthermore, the newly created movies can also be edited with the integrated Quick Video Editor.
On the specifications front, the LG V30 features a 6-inch QHD+ P-OLED FullVision display, Snapdragon 835 processor, Adreno 540 graphics, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage powered by a 3200mAh fast charging battery. The handset will be loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat.
However, the company will push an update to Android O before the end of 2017.
While the rear camera will be equipped with dual 13MP sensors, the front-facing camera bears an 8MP sensor. The phone will be designed using military standard protection paired with 6000-series aluminum with support for HDR 10, Google Daydream and water-resistant capabilities via IP68 technology.
