Even the luxury brands are cashing in on this current Suv craze. The SUV segment is becoming more and more crowded by the day as automakers come up with their best offering. SUVs are getting better. Recently, the world has seen technological advancements on some of the best SUVs on the market. Apparently, the segment has gone from being just for utility to something way better and advanced.

The 2018 Audi Q5 is one of the latest addition to the segment. It may not be as affordable as the Toyotas and Chevrolets, but it is expected to do well still.

Audi has a solid following and having its Q5 is sure to be supported and patronized by its avid fans.

Q5... What is in store?

According to USA Today, the Q5 will come with Quattro all-wheel-drive system. It is capable of producing 252-horsepower output because of its two-liter four-cylinder engine. It is also mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. Price starts at $41,500 and the more expensive version comes in at $54,300. This is called the SQ5 with more power for its 354-horsepower output from its V-6 engine.

At first glance, the 2018 Audi Q5 looks like your typical SUV. However, it stays true to its legacy of being classic. This is evidenced by 20-inch five-spoke wheels and a panoramic power sunroof.

It may not be a "looker," but many purists and traditional buyers prefer it that way.

Its infotainment system comes in all beefed-up with connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is equipped Bang and Olufsen audio which is one of the best technology brands. Even its safety features are enhanced as it has blind spot alert, top view camera, and much more.

Is it worth it?

Yes, for the most part. Why? Audi has known the world over for producing the best vehicles. Audi does hold an impeccable reputation which makes it one of the best luxury car brands. This legacy is sure to continue with the addition of the 2018 Q5.

However, there are other SUVs which offer the same advanced features for a lot less price.

Classic examples are the Chevrolet Equinox, Nissan Murano, and Ford Escape. Though these brands are mainstream, its features come close or even surpass that of the Q5's. Well, at least it is about $1000 less than 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Unfortunately, the 2018 Q5 is considered basic. There is nothing outstanding about it that is enough to make anyone excited. It may even be bought just for the sake of owning an Audi and not much else. It may even be better to wait for the Audi A8 if one can be swayed to have a sedan instead.

Don't despair though. For practical luxury buyers, this is a good option because of its excellent fuel efficiency at 23 mpg in the city, 27 mpg on the highway and 25 mpg combined. Its interior is also spacious with plenty of room for storage.
