Rumors of the Oneplus 5 have been doing the rounds for many months and it seems that the wait for fans is nearly over. A purported Leaked Teaser from the Chinese smartphone maker hinted that the company will take the wraps off the highly-anticipated smartphone on June 20. The upcoming phone will succeed OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.
Mobile phone fans found a teaser image on Weibo with the company's name at the bottom and June 20 circled on the calendar. Previous reports cited a June 15 launch of the upcoming phone. It is worth noting that although the teaser has the company's logo and name, the smartphone maker has not yet officially confirmed the launch date.
Details of the phone let out by the company
The company has confirmed that the next flagship will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is also found in some high-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and more. A company executive also let out that the upcoming phone will be the thinnest flagship. However, it is not clear if the device will be the thinnest company flagship or the thinnest flagship available on the market.
Rumored specs of the smartphone
Previous phones from OnePlus have enticed millions of handset customers from all around the world. All prior phones had top-end specs and they are also sometimes referred to as “flagship killer.” Previous models from the company included 6 GB of RAM, which suggests that the next high-end phone should include 6 GB of RAM if not 8 GB.
Camera capabilities have become an important aspect for many customers when buying a new handset. It seems OnePlus 5 will include a high-quality snapper as rumors have been circling that the phone will have a DxO enhanced camera for superior picture quality. OnePlus also released a few pictures taken by the upcoming phone to show off the image quality.
Several rumors claim that the phone will come with dual-camera setup, which is found in many popular devices launched this year.
The smartphone is also expected to boast 5.5-inch screen for enhanced video watching experience. The handset is estimated to include a 3,300 mAh battery for long usage. Being a top-notch phone, it is highly likely that the device will come running on Android 7.1 Nougat straight out of the box.
The company took the wraps off the OnePlus 3 in June and the OnePlus 2 was revealed in July. Although the phone maker has not confirmed a launch date for the next-gen device, launch dates of its predecessors hint that the next-gen phone will also make an appearance soon.
