On Thursday, June 1, tech enthusiasts discovered 26 new entries of a device going by the name “Unknown Heart” on benchmarking site GeekBench. On June 2, few dozens of nokia entries appeared on the benchmarking site sporting the same results and specifications boasted by the 26 listings the day before. It was seen that all the devices with the name “Unknown Heart” came with Qualcomm’s latest chipset Snapdragon 835 and 4 GB of RAM. The device was also running Android Nougat.
It was later revealed that “Unknown Heart” was none other than the Nokia-branded flagship Nokia 9, which it appears will come with the latest Snapdragon 835 SoC.
Surprisingly the June 1 and June 2 entries all have the same results as the TA-1004 device, which was spotted last week.
According to tech publication Nokia Power User, HMD Global has successfully passed two devices –the TA-1012 and TA-1004 to get EA Union certification. EX or the Eurasian Union is equivalent to the United States’ FCC or Federal Communications Commission, which means that its certification is utmost necessary for the release of a handset.
Nokia 9 will have two variants
The Nokia 9 is rumored to come in two variants depending on the SIM capacity of the smartphone. It is being hinted that the Nokia 9 handset will be made available as single-SIM and dual-SIM variants. While TA-1004 is rumored to be the single-SIM variant, TA 1012 may be the dual-SIM Nokia 9.
It will be interesting to see which variant makes it to the U.S. shores.
The smartphone appears on AnTuTu
Another leak for the Nokia 9 revealed that the handset had popped up on benchmarking site AnTuTu on June 2. The listing suggests that the smartphone may come with 4 GB of RAM. The AnTuTu listing in line with the GeekBench one also shows the Nokia 9 smartphone sporting the model number TA-1004 and running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
The listing also reveals that TA-1004 will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 along with an Adreno 540 GPU.
In addition to all these impressive specs, the AnTuTu listing also shows the smartphone coming with 1,440 × 2,560 pixels screen resolution. The Nokia handset is also listed as having 13-megapixel front and rear cameras.
Nokia fans may also expect 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage on the smartphone. The Nokia 9 is rumored to launch sometime between July and September. Thus, fans will have to wait a little longer to see what comes along with the much-anticipated smartphone.
