Apple is reportedly launching its new all-in-one Desktop computer dubbed the iMac Pro 2017 by December of this year. From the recent reports, it appears that the upcoming device will have interesting features and specs with an expensive price tag.
The power of the next desktop model

The device would have a 22 teraflops of graphics processing unit performance and 18-core Xeon processors. Moreover, it would have a 128 GB of RAM. This spells out a wide difference among all other desktop computers in the market today in terms of quality and performance.

Aside from the amount of power mentioned earlier, the device will be released with a 27-inch Retina 5K display. It sports a 5120x2880 resolution and the ability to produce to 4096x2160 external displays, or one 5120x2880 dual-cable screen. With this specification, the device can be the best machine for virtual reality content building as well as real-time 3D creation and advanced graphics manipulation. In addition, it will be available in a smooth Space Gray variant.
The Cupertino-based tech giant also claims that the upcoming machine would be the top of the line, all-in-one computing device that incorporates the company’s sleek touch with workstation-like prowess. In fact, with the impressive specs revealed for the desktop computer, Apple is trying to win back the previous market that it gradually lost along the way, the professional.
Aside from those, the upcoming device will be equipped with two Thunderbolt 3 (USB C) ports on the rear and four USB 3.0. In addition, it would also have a headphone jack, SDXC card slot, and a 10 GB Ethernet port. This port is 10 times faster than the regular Gigabit Ethernet socket from the previous models. Moreover, the machine will be released with a dual centrifugal fan.
This will provide more airflow for the machine compared to its preceding models.
Price
The base configuration of the upcoming desktop model would cost $4,999. If users opt to upgrade to 4TB of SSD and get an 18-core upgrade, it would cost an additional $7,600 estimated price. For those who may opt to get the top configuration, it would cost an estimated price of $17,299.
