'Kingdom Hearts 3' is nowhere close to hitting the store shelves, but avid gamers will still be able to catch a glimpse of the hotly anticipated game at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2017, which kicks off June 14.
The next 'Kingdom Hearts' title: When is it arriving?
The long-rumored title was slated to receive a trailer last month; however, game developer Square Enix decided to postpone it to E3 instead. Nevertheless, those who have restlessly been waiting to get their hands on the upcoming action RPG (role-playing game) should not get their hopes up yet, and here’s why.
Although its trailer release is just around the corner, 'KH3' is not likely to see the light of day anytime soon. In fact, multiple sources suggest 'KH3' will not be up for grabs until next year. The last footage for the game that was posted by YouTube channel, TheGamersJoint centers completely on the game battle. Contrary to most game's reveal trailer, this footage gives avid gamers an awe-inspiring peek at what they can expect regarding combat in the game.
If reports running rampant online are anything to go by, the game development is not going on very well at the moment. There's also hearsay that the title will be launched in 2018, even if it means cuts. Apparently, Disney wants the Japanese video game developer to ensure the long-awaited title arrives sooner rather than later.
The sense of urgency is quite understandable since the game was originally scheduled to launch back in 2012, while the concept for the upcoming RPG was originally unveiled in 2006. Moreover, Square Enix did not confirm it was hard on works on a sequel to 'Kingdom Hearts II' until 2013.
While there’s word floating around suggesting that the game will be released in 2018 or even beyond, some recently surfaced reports claim avid gamers will be able to delve into the much-awaited title as early as next year.
However, since this is a mere speculation, readers are advised to take this shred of information with a huge grain of salt.
Regarding plot, 'Kingdom Hearts 3' follows events of 'Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.' The title kicks off with King Mickey and Riku seeking the vestigial Keyblade wielders. In the meantime, Sora, Donald, and Goofy are looking for the Seven Guardians of Light beyond myriad in multiple worlds.
All this is done in order to put a lid on Master Xehanort's nefarious plan.
