What's in a name
In any aspect, it is a general knowledge that a name is always one of the many determining factors in every success of a particular product. People always associate a product's name with its maker. For instance, product names that start with the letter i is always linked to Apple like iPhone, iPad, and iMac. Samsung, on the other hand, is known for the S or Galaxy on its products ‘name like S7, Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8 among others.
As HTC is gearing up for its upcoming unveiling, the only information we have initially about its flagship device is that it will have U in its name.
Recent information from a serial tipster and leaker Evan Blass revealed that the device would be officially named HTC U 11. The information seems to make sense because 11 represent the number following the release of its flagship device in the previous year, which is the HTC 10. The U includes it in the series of latest smartphones the company launched and released.
Earlier this year U Ultra and U-Play were released.
Expected specs and features
As we have previously reported, the device will be the first ever from the Taiwanese electronics company to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip. It is anticipated to be released loaded with impressive specs and features similar to LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8.
In one listing, it was noted that the device will have a 5.5-inch display and most likely, similar to its predecessor, it will be a QHD Super LCD 5.
However, it is still possible that given the latest flagships OLED display panel, this one might also0 have one.
It was also speculated to have an Android Nougat 7.1 for its operating system. Moreover, HTC U 11 is expected to sport a 12-megapixel rear camera and 16-megapixel front facing snapper. Reportedly, it will have 4GB of RAM and 3000 mAh battery pack. Recently, it was leaked that the device will drop the 3.5mm audio jack.
For its features, one highlight is its exclusive Edge Sense or Sense Touch. While the company has not made any comment about this, it was previously reported that it would be a feature embedded in its frames where users can interact with the device by squeezing it.
Color variants
HTC U 11 as reported by Blass will be released in five varying colors. These are Black, White, Blue, Red, and Silver. However, according to the report not all of these colors will be available in all regions. In most cases, US consumers are limited only to two or three color options.
