There are a lot of rumors regarding AEW which are taking off all around the world. It was revealed in a news report by Whatculture.com that AEW's Tony Khan considered CM Punk as his first pick. It is mentioned in the report that he was asked to join Cody Rhodes and company but he refused a big money offer. Amidst all this, the WWE and ROH famed CM Punk returned wearing a mask in a Wrestling event on April 20, 2019. He is thought to make his return to help his mate Silas Young's Wisconsin-based "MKE Wrestling" promotion. The wrestler from Chicago gave a surprise appearance out of nowhere and hit a wrestler with a GTS move.

He was seen in a hoodie and a mask running through a door and into the ring to interfere in a match. This whole thing took place in not more than 20 seconds.

When Punk came to WWE

In the initial phase of his career, he was in ROH and TNA from 2002 to 2006, where he battled great wrestlers like Samoa Joe, Colt Cabana, and others. Then he entered WWE when he first came to its ECW branch. His entrance theme song by the name of "Fire Burns" won everyone's heart, followed by his amazing wrestling skills and movesets which he displayed in his very first match.

In ECW, he wrestled legendary superstars like Kane, Big Show and other WWE amateurs such as Elijah Burke and John Morrison. Punk became ECW champion by defeating Chavo Guerrero.

He also formed a tag team with "The Big Red Monster" Kane for some days which was loved by WWE universe.

Very soon after this, in April 2008, he entered Wrestlemania 24 "Money in the Bank" ladder match and won the contract. He cashed in the contract on Edge who was attacked by Batista in an episode of WWE Raw. After successfully cashing in, Punk became the World Heavyweight Champion.

At the next year's Wrestlemania in 2009, he again won the "Money in the Bank" ladder match and won the contract again. This time, he cashed it in against "The Charismatic Enigma" Jeff Hardy and took away his world championship. Punk later formed "The New Nexus" for some amount of time from December 2010 to May 2011 and had a great rivalry with John Cena after that in June, 2011.

End of his career in WWE

Towards the end of his stint in WWE, CM Punk spent the best time of his wrestling career from 2011 to 2014. He became the WWE champion by defeating John Cena and carried the championship for 434 days. At Royal Rumble 2014, CM Punk had his last match as a WWE wrestler when he wrestled in the "Royal Rumble Match".

After leaving WWE, he started training for Mixed Martial Arts. He made his MMA debut in 2016 after joining it in 2014. But his MMA career was not good enough as he never won a match. His first defeat came at the hands of Mickey Gall where he lost his match in the very first round itself. His second defeat came at the hands of Mike Jackson at UFC 225. After his back to back defeats, reports emerged regarding Punk's retirement from UFC. Now, there are rumors on social media that Phillip Jack Brooks (CM Punk) may be joining AEW as a wrestler. Wrestling fans are speculating that CM Punk may show up in AEW and all eyes are on him.
