The AEW, or All Elite Wrestling, is creating a lot of hype before its launch as there are many legendary wrestlers who have signed a deal with the promotion. Some of the big names who have made it official are former WWE superstar Chris Jericho, former NJPW superstar Kenny Omega, WWE Hall of Famer and DX member Billy Gunn, among others. The latest in the list is Dean Ambrose who has been recently released from WWE. He is a Grand Slam champion and the former member of Shield group which consisted of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose.
The men behind AEW are Pakistan-American billionaire Shahid Khan and his son Tony.
The two of them founded this new organization which is capable of giving big bank to its wrestlers as we have heard from Chris Jericho and Jim Ross that they have received the best offers of their career from the AEW.
The first live event of AEW will be called "Double or Nothing" and it will take place on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The tickets were sold out in just five minutes. Slice Wrestling has reported that "The Lunatic Fringe" Dean Ambrose has received a deal of six million dollars which is, supposedly, more than what his Shield members, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, get from WWE.
Why Dean Ambrose left WWE?
Ambrose is expected to take a long break from WWE. Last week on Raw, Ambrose bid goodbye to the WWE Universe.
He appreciated the audience and gave a short farewell speech for his fans. Ambrose was reportedly unhappy with the storyline he was given and did not like the character he was asked to portray. After Roman Reigns disclosed that he had leukemia, in front of the WWE audience, and went for a break, Dean Ambrose turned heel and started a storyline with Seth Rollins.
Reportedly, he was unhappy with the character and refused to sign the contract with WWE. The news about his exit was officially confirmed by WWE.
Dean's Accomplishments and future
Dean is a Grand Slam Champion in WWE. He is a one-time WWE world champion, which he won at Money in the Bank 2016 cashing in his contract against Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.
He is also a three-time Intercontinental champion and a one-time United States Championship. He carried the US title for 351 days. He is also a two-time WWE Raw tag team champion with his partner Seth Rollins. Let's hope that Dean Ambrose joins AEW and becomes the main eventer. He might get an opportunity to face superstars like Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. Dean Ambrose is a superstar with an unorthodox style of wrestling and he has earned the respect of the wrestling fans by working hard and entertaining the fans.
