Nebraska football commit Wandale Robinson is incredibly talented. That's probably not a real shock to most Husker fans considering that he is a 4-star prospect according to 247 Sports, and the number two all-purpose back in the entire 2019 class. His talent level is also the focus of much debate because he's already taken home some trophies from the state of Kentucky. Now he's looking at winning the award for the best player in the country from the All-American Bowl. Should he manage to take that award, it would be a heck of a feather in his own cap and would help the Cornhuskers moving forward when they are pointing to the type of players they're getting in the 2019 class.

Wandale Robinson among an elite group

While the Nebraska football commit is named as a finalist for the All-American Bowl player of the year award, he's going to be going up against some stiff competition in order to win it. In addition to Robinson, the other finalists are David Bell, Eric Gray, Grant Gunnell, Bru McCoy, and Puka Nacua.

Bell is a 4-star wide receiver out of Indianapolis. While he isn't officially committed to any school yet, he's considered a lean to the Purdue Boilermakers at the moment. Interestingly, he's not expecting to be an early signee as he's announced his commitment date is going to be about three weeks from today. Eric Gray is a 4-star all-purpose back who is also a free-agent at the moment.

He's thought to be deciding between Tennessee and Michigan, though the Vols have a rather large lead according to recruiting experts.

Grant Gunnell is a 3-star pro-style quarterback that has been committed to the Arizona Wildcats since June.

There was a time when the Huskers were going after Gunnell back when Mike Riley was in Lincoln. Bru Mccoy is a 5-star wide receiver that will be announcing the same day as Bell. He's thought to be a heavy lean to USC. Puka Nacua is a 4-star receiver that has been a commit to USC since June. There are some people who think he might eventually change to either BYU or Utah but at the moment, he's a Trojan.

Nebraska football rooting for its guy

Obviously having Wandale Robinson on board would be big for the Huskers and their recruiting, but there's another reason Husker fans should be rooting hard for the Kentucky native to win the award. Since changing his commitment from the Wildcats to the Cornhuskers, he's taken quite a bit of flack. That flack has included from some of the guys who recruited him to Kentucky. It would be nice for him to finish the recruiting cycle taking home some serious hardware.
