LeBron James had a chance to do something special on Saturday when he led the Los Angeles Lakers against the Charlotte Hornets. LeBron knew that it was already special since he was playing against the team that Michael Jordan owned. He then did something with teammate Lonzo Ball that Jordan never accomplished over his entire career.

The Los Angeles Lakers knocked off the Hornets, 129-100, and it was a team effort from LeBron James and Lonzo Ball.

LeBron finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Lonzo finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. They were the first Lakers' teammates to score a triple-double in the same game since Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it in 1982.

That was also only the second time that the Lakers ever accomplished this feat, which is amazing considering the players that have competed for the organization. It was also the first time since 2007 that anyone did this in the NBA (Jason Kidd and Vince Carter).

LeBron on the accomplishment

LeBron James said after the game that the Los Angeles Lakers were just in the mindset of not losing two games in a row.

As for him and Lonzo Ball both getting the triple-double, LeBron said that they are just doing what it takes to help the Lakers win. LeBron also said that the two of them are "one in the same" when it comes to their playmaking skills.

LeBron said that he and Lonzo are both really good rebounders for their positions. James said that they can both put the ball in the basket as well and the big thing is that they were able to trust their Lakers teammates to throw them the ball and watch them make the baskets. James said that is always a fun thing for him to watch.

As for LeBron James and Lonzo Ball doing something no one for the Los Angeles Lakers has done since Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, LeBron said that was good company to keep.

He echoed that for the tandem of Jason Kidd and Vince Carter and LeBron, a fan of NBA history seemed respectful of their accomplishment.

Lonzo on LeBron

Lonzo Ball echoed what LeBron James said and added that it was even more special for him to do it with his new Los Angeles Lakers teammate. Lonzo called it a "dream come true." He said that he grew up watching LeBron play his whole life and said that James is still his favorite player of all time. According to Lonzo, being out there and winning games with LeBron and going into battle with him is great.

The Los Angeles Lakers next play the Washington Wizards on Dec. 16.
