The Los Angeles Lakers have started to surge recently and they are trying to get better. Just a week after Kevin Durant explained that the Lakers will have a hard time convincing a star player to join LeBron James in Los Angeles, the Lakers reportedly reached out to the Washington Wizards about trading for their disgruntled star John Wall. While a superstar like Kawhi Leonard or Kevin Durant might not want to share the court with LeBron, a trade for someone like Wall would not give the player a choice and could give James and the Lakers a new star to help the team improve even more in 2018-19.

What did Lakers offer Wizards for Wall?

The Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors hit the Internet hard and strong on Friday and it is a trade that would make one basketball family very angry. USA Today reported that the Lakers offered their first-round draft pick from last season, Lonzo Ball, to the Washington Wizards for John Wall. Looking at this for a moment, the trade would get Wall out of Washington before he drags the team down with his disgruntled behavior.

However, in exchange, they would be bringing in a talented young point guard, albeit one who is a poor shooter, in Lonzo Ball. But, the problem is that Lonzo comes with baggage in the form of his overbearing father LaVar Ball. All Lakers fans know that LaVar brings controversy and his own demands for how his oldest son should be treated.

The possible Lakers trade

The Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors originally came from Bullets Forever where two agents told the website that the Lakers have been discussing a trade for John Wall with the Washington Wizards and just included Lonzo Ball in their trade talks. Rich Paul, who represents both LeBron James and John Wall, is reportedly trying to set this trade up but the Wizards have rejected it so far.

The second agent asked said that the Los Angeles Lakers trade rumors are also true. This agent said that it is Lonzo Ball and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope that the Lakers are offering to the Wizards for John Wall. There will be a third player in the trade package, although that player is still undetermined. The options for that player are Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma.

Finally, there was a third source that was asked about the possible Lakers and Wizards trade. The one thing getting in the way was that Magic Johnson likes his young stars and does not want to trade away the future. That source said that Paul was using Kevin Durant's statements that young star players don't want to play with LeBron James as fuel for a trade.
