The last time these two teams faced each other at Lord's in 2014, the tourists managed to sneak a famous win. The hosts, though, have a much better record against India at Lord's winning 11 games, drawing four and losing only two.

Ollie Pope set to debut for England

England has announced that 20-year old batsman Ollie Pope will make his debut, who was drafted in the squad after the first test in place of Dawid Malan.

With Ben Stokes not available for this test, Cricbuzz reports that either Chris Woakes or Moeen Ali will take his place in the XI, while rest of the side will unchanged from the first test.

According to Cricbuzz, the Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun has revealed that the side might bring in Ravindra Jadeja if the pitch seems to aid spinners. If that happens, Hardik Pandya is most likely to make way for him.

Arun also stated that Jasprit Bumrah had been ruled out of the second test, having failed to recover from a thumb injury. There are even speculations that Chesteshwar Pujara might be favored in place of Shikhar Dhawan to open the innings with KL Rahul.

Overcast conditions to welcome the teams

The Lord's pitch is expected to be dry and hard which will help the batsmen. But, ESPN Cricinfo predicts that there is a chance of an odd shower here and there during the Test. Rain and overcast conditions might help the bowlers to get some swing from this surface. The second test is expected to be another see-saw contest between these two evenly balanced sides.
