Fans and experts predict that Khabib Nurmagomedov will beat Tony Ferguson with takedowns, wrestling, and with overwhelming pressure. Nurmagomedov was born on September 20, 1988, in Tsumadinsky, Russia. As a child, Khabib would constantly get into street fights before finding mixed martial arts.
He started training at the local gym where his passion for MMA was sparked while watching the other kids.
In his youth, Khabib's father also practiced judo and sambo in the military. Now, dad is the main trainer of Nurmagomedov and for the combat sambo national team in Makhachkala, Russia.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is the scariest fighter in the Lightweight Division; he has a perfect 25-0 record and has destroyed everyone inside the cage with supernatural strength and skills. This spring Khabib Nurmagomedov will be fighting Tony Ferguson at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
If the Russian wins at UFC 223 it will be ten victories in a row
Fighters like former titleholder Anderson Silva and Canadian champion Georges St-Pierre have achieved the difficult task of reaching 10 straight wins!
But first Khabib and Tony have to meet inside the cage -- Tony Ferguson was going to battle the Russian on December 11, 2015, in "The Ultimate Fighter" 22 Finale, but Nurmagomedov canceled the fight because of an injury.
Khabib came back on April 16, 2016, but on April 5, Ferguson had to pull out of the fight because of lung trouble. Hopefully, there will be no cancellations this time. Still, with a perfect record, Khabib Nurmagomedov is set to face Tony Ferguson when they bring the heat into the Octagon at UFC 223. It's all for the interim lightweight title on April 7, 2018.
Most likely the victor will get to face Conor Mcgregor
McGregor hasn't been in the octagon since UFC 205 when he became the Undisputed champion.
It's been over a year and the Irishman has not said what are his plans are with the UFC organization. There have been lots of rumors that he has been negotiating with President Dana White; but at the same time, White has suggested the promotion will strip Conor of the lightweight belt. MMA Junkie cited the UFC President as saying that "McGregor won't be the champion as soon as "The Eagle" and and "El Cucui" clash inside the cage April 7th." The winner of the fight between Ferguson and Nurmagomedov will get the undisputed title and should be next in line to battle with the king of the Lightweight Division.
