March Madness 2018 is coming! With the NCAA basketball regular season winding down this weekend, up next is the conference tournaments and then it is off to the big dance to crown this year’s NCAA basketball champions. Who will be this year’s champ? That really is anyone’s guess, but Las Vegas oddsmakers have had their say in who they believe has the best chance to bring home the trophy this April.

Sparty on! MSU No. 1

Tom Izzo knows how to win games, but can his Michigan State Spartans win the 2018 NCAA championship? MSU is on fire right now. The Spartans are currently on an 11-game winning streak and own one of the best records in all of college hoops at 27-3.

Led by Miles Bridges, Joshua Langford and big man Nick Ward, Michigan State should be a shoo-in to make yet another Sweet 16 appearance. While coach Izzo has led his MSU teams to several Sweet 16 and final four appearances, the Spartans have only won one NCAA title during his coaching career. According to online sportsbook Bovada, Michigan State is the favorite to win the 2018 title at 5/1.

Duke, Nova, UVA close second

Right behind Michigan State are a tough group of teams including Duke, Villanova, and Virginia. The ACC is one of the toughest conferences in all of College Basketball and front and center are the Duke Blue Devils and the Virginia Cavaliers.

Virginia currently holds the No.1 spot in the land and will most likely draw a No.

1 seed in this year's NCAA March Madness tournament. This team can do it all. They shoot well, rebound well and know how to spread the opponent out on defense. The only thing that makes UVA a risk to wager big money on is the same thing that makes all the heavy favorites an incredible risk -- the "one and done" madness of the tournament.

Goliath has fallen many times to David in NCAA Tournament history, and it will once again happen this season. That is what makes this tournament arguably the best -- and worst -- way to decide a true champion. Either way, fans love it!

If you don't bring your best every night, you could wind up sitting at home after the first round wondering what in the world happened.

On the other hand, it seems unfair in many ways that teams work so hard all season just to get eliminated in one simple swoop. But hey, that is why they call it March Madness!
