LeBron James is 32 and this is his 15th season in the NBA, yet he isn't slowing down and he is still the best player in the league. The Cleveland Cavaliers forward is averaging impressive numbers and he's helping his team bounce back after a rough start of the season. After being a few games under .500, the Cavaliers have won four games in a row and are now 9-7.
Last game was very tough for the Cavs as they hosted the Los Angeles Clippers.
Even though the Clippers entered the game riding a six-game losing streak, the Cavaliers knew they would be a tough opponent. Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are amazing, and they nearly led the Clippers to a big road victory. However, LeBron James did not allow his team to lose another game at home, which earned him some words of praise from Clippers coach Doc Rivers.
Doc is amazed by LeBron
The Cavaliers spent their whole night chasing the Clippers, and they managed to tie the game with less than a minute left in the fourth quarter. Eventually, the game went into overtime where Cleveland outscored their opponent 13-8, winning their fourth straight game.
LeBron James played heavy minutes once again, but he had another sensational performance. In 46 minutes of action, the four-time MVP scored 39 points and he needed only 26 shots to get there. While he made only one out of five shots from the charity stripe, he did a great job scoring from the long range, going 4-for-9 from beyond the arc. In addition, James added 14 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal to his stat line.
"Most players when they get to his age are smart enough now they see everything," Doc Rivers said of LeBron James. "But usually when they get to that age, they're too old to do anything about it. He has both going for him. He can beat you with his brain. He can beat you with his power.
It's a daunting task when you watch him on film."
Rivers' comments are another proof of how amazing LeBron is at 32. Most players lose athleticism, but it seems that James only keeps getting better, and as long as that's the case, the Cavaliers will be one of the favorites to win a championship.
Next game for the Cavs
The Cavaliers will take their four-game winning streak to Detroit where they will face off against the Pistons Monday night. Despite losing last two games, the Pistons are the second-best team in the Eastern Conference with a 10-5 record. In addition, they are 7-1 at home, and the Cavaliers will face another tough challenge.
Andre Drummond is having a great season and he will be a big factor in the Pistons' upcoming game against Cleveland. If the Cavaliers manage to stop him, they should be able to win and extend their win streak to five games.
