Last night we saw the Denver Nuggets face off against the Los Angeles Lakers. Denver came off a huge win against the Golden State Warriors while the Lakers suffered a defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Denver Nuggets continued to shine as they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers with a score 113-107. Gary Harris and Kyle Kuzma shot the lights out last night but the Denver Nuggets was just too much for the Lakers.
Lonzo Ball struggles against Denver
Lonzo Ball is probably the most hyped NBA rookie this year but he continues to play at a subpar level with the Los Angeles Lakers.
In the game against Minnesota, Lonzo had a decent game with seven rebounds, eight assists, and two steals but shot very poorly making only two out of his 9 field goal attempts. In last night's game against the Denver Nuggets, Lonzo was not himself, he only contributed eight points, three rebounds, four assists, one block, and one steal. Lonzo still looks really good as a rookie, he scores, rebounds, passes the ball very well, and shoots the three at a high percentage. Lonzo just has to be more consistent and get used to how fast the NBA pace is
Kyle Kuzma continues to put on a show
Kyle Kuzma showed how good of a scorer he can be during the summer league. And Kyle Kuzma continues his strong showing in this years preseason game.
In their preseason opener against Minnesota, Kuzma scored 19 points while making nine out of his 12 field goal attempts. Last night, Kuzma had another incredible game last night against the Denver Nuggets contributing 23 points, one rebound, and two assists. Kuzma and Ball are looking very solid and the Los Angeles Lakers fan can be very excited for the start of the season.
Gary Harris could not be stopped by the Lakers
In last night's game, the Los Angeles Lakers just had no answer for Gary Harris. Harris played an almost perfect game by contributing 25 points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal. He shot the lights out making eight of his 11 shots from the field and sinking five of his seven three-pointers.
The Denver Nuggets are looking pretty solid so far, and with the addition of Paul Millsap, they are surely a force to be reckoned with next season.
Wilson Chandler shows off defensive talents
Wilson Chandler put on a defensive clinic in last night's game against the Los Angeles Lakers. He contributed nine points, five rebounds, one assist, and five steals. If the Denver Nuggets are looking to play at the level of the Warriors they not only have to step up offensively but also defensively.
