The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Dallas Mavericks 111-96 on Friday. The Mavericks had a very sloppy game, shooting only 41.2 percent from the field, 38.7 percent on three-pointers, and 82.4 percent from the Free Throw Line. Marvin Williams had a huge impact on yesterday's game, scoring 11 points, dishing out one assist, and grabbing three rebounds in 23 minutes. As the regular season draws near, the Mavericks begin to prepare for their regular season opener against the Sacramento Kings on October 20.

Dirk Nowitzki does a little bit of everything

Dirk Nowitzki had a solid all-around game for the Dallas Mavericks. He contributed 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks in 26 minutes. Dirk was 4-of-11 from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc, and 3-of-4 from the free throw line.

Dirk Nowitzki has been nothing of short of amazing for his entire career, yet he still continues to play and make an impact for the Dallas Mavericks. The future Hall of Famer enters his 20th season in the NBA, and with the Dallas Mavericks, Rick Carlisle will still make Dirk start at center this upcoming season.

Harrison Barnes impresses with 24 points

Harrison Barnes looked amazing against the Charlotte Hornets.

He contributed 24 points, five rebounds, one steal, and four assists in 34 minutes. He shot 42.1 percent from the field and 88.9 percent from the free throw line. In order for the Mavericks to return to the playoffs this season, Harrison Barnes, JJ Barea, Nerlens Noel, and Yogi Ferrel have to step up their game. The Dallas Mavericks are set to face the Sacramento Kings in their first regular season game. Getting a win in their NBA opening game would be a great way to start their season.

Kemba Walker scores 18 points

Kemba Walker had an incredible scoring game as he led the Hornets in scoring. He contributed 18 points, four rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 27 minutes. He shot 50 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 66.7 percent from the free throw line against the Dallas Mavericks.

Dwight Howard looking like superman again

Dwight Howard played an amazing game last night for the Charlotte Hornets. He contributed eight points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and one block in 27 minutes. Howard was 4-of-7 from the field and 0-of-1 from the free throw line. Dwight Howard has a chance to revive his declining career this upcoming NBA season. He will have plenty of room to operate in the paint with Kemba Walker, Malik Monk, Marvin Williams and Nicolas Batum surrounding him.
