The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the new orleans Pelicans with the score 103-91 on Wednesday at the FedEx Forum in Memphis Tennessee. The New Orleans Pelicans had no answer for Mike Conley last night as he scored 27 points. Dillon Brooks and Marc Gasol also had a decent game with 19 and 14 points, respectively. Both Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins had a great game, but it still was not enough to defeat the Grizzlies.

Anthony Davis continues to dominate

Despite the loss, Anthony Davis destroyed the Grizzlies in the paint last night. He scored a game-high 33 points to go along with 18 rebounds, and one block in 40 minutes.

He shot 39.1 percent from the field, 50 percent from the three-point line, and 82.4 percent from the Free Throw Line.

What stood out in Davis' performance last night was him making 14 free throw shots in 17 attempts. The Memphis Grizzlies could not do anything to stop Davis, even fouling him was not the answer, But Davis and Cousins alone were just not enough to defeat the Grizzlies. Anthony Davis continues to be one of the most dominant big men in the league, even with him now sharing the court with DeMarcus Cousins.

DeMarcus Cousins gets seven blocks

It was not only Anthony Davis who put on a show, but DeMarcus Cousins also looked incredible against the Memphis Grizzlies. He contributed 28 points, ten rebounds, two assists, and seven big blocks in 38 minutes.

He shot 42.1 percent from the field making eight of his 19 field goal attempts and making four of his five free throw attempts. The other Pelicans players will have to step up and help Davis and Cousins for them to get wins this season. Once Rajon Rondo comes back, he will be able to facilitate both Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, and that will make the Pelicans a lot scarier.

Mike Conley did a little bit of everything

Mike Conley led the Memphis Grizzlies in scoring last night against the New Orleans Pelicans with 27. He also added five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 33 minutes. He shot 60 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from the three-point line, and 71.4 percent from the free throw line.

The Grizzlies looked a lot different than last year; they played a very fast-paced game against the Pelicans. With Zach Randolph and Vince Carter joining the Kings, the Grizzlies are looking to play a much faster pace of basketball this season.

Marc Gasol gets a double-double

Marc Gasol recorded his first double-double of the season against the New Orleans Pelicans. He contributed 14 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three blocks in 29 minutes. He shot 40 percent from the field and 40 percent from the three-point line.
