The WWE "No Mercy 2017" pay-per-view event arrives on Sunday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The arena has served as the home to plenty of superstar athletes including Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, and Kobe Bryant. On Sunday it will serve as the host site for a battle between arguably the two biggest superstars in the WWE as the John Cena vs. Roman Reigns match finally takes place. Here's a look at the upcoming match preview including odds to win and predictions.

Cena vs. Reigns buildup

Roman Reigns made a strong case for being the top superstar in WWE today after he defeated the legendary Undertaker at "WrestleMania 34." However, Reigns has yet to conquer another major star who was built up over the years within WWE.

John Cena is among the most-decorated superstars in the history of WWE and will provide a measuring stick to see just how good Reigns is right now.

In the past month, Cena made a move over to "Raw" from "SmackDown Live" as a WWE free agent. Over the past several weeks on WWE "Raw," fans have seen John Cena and Roman Reigns engaged in a verbal battle in the ring. The two superstars have made their cases for why the other isn't as great as they might think. Cena has accused Reigns of trying to be like him and failing a drug test at one point.

Reigns most recently accused Cena of being just like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and favoring Hollywood over the Wrestling ring. In addition, he called out Cena for not showing up on "Raw," something Cena had pointed out about the Rock when he left WWE and came back for a match with him.

Roman even pointed out that Cena held back Alex Riley's career in the WWE, something that has been mentioned online in wrestling rumors for weeks now and also said by Riley himself after leaving WWE.

Match odds & prediction

So who will win the battle of Cena vs. Reigns on Sunday? As of this report, the Paddy Power sportsbook has Roman Reigns listed as an 8 to 11 favorite to defeat John Cena.

Cena is listed at "Even" odds meaning he's a slight underdog and has a decent chance to win the match.

However, one has to think this match will help put Reigns over on the "Raw" roster so Roman can eventually challenge Brock Lensar for the WWE Universal title. Possibly Cena will use his free agency to head back over to "SmackDown Live" and take on Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship.

It seems like the stage is being set for Roman Reigns to pick up the big win over John Cena in this match. With that said, it's just one match and it's likely there will be several more between these two stars before they end their legendary wrestling careers.
