One of WWE’s best female wrestlers is training for a comeback. After nearly a year away from the squared circle, Paige is ready to make her return to the WWE. Earlier this week, the wrestler revealed via social media that she was busy training at the performance center. The news was later confirmed by WWE and gave Paige fans a reason to celebrate

The former NXT Women’s champion and two-time Divas champion has been a fan favorite with the crowd since making her debut in 2011. Her gothic, anti-diva gimmick quickly caught on with wrestling fans. Paige was such a hit that she was offered a spot on the reality show "Total Divas," where she appeared alongside fellow wrestlers Natalya and The Bella Twins.

Just as Paige’s success continued to rise, a serious injury along with personal problems threatened to derail her career. Her bout of bad luck had many concerned and wondering if she’d give up wrestling. But her recent announcement seems like the wrestler’s luck is about to turn around.

Paige's troubles

The past year has been a rough one for the female superstar. In the summer of 2016, she took a break from wrestling to deal with a neck injury, which required surgery. But that was just the beginning of her problems. Just before the Summerslam PPV, the Superstar was suspended due to a violation of WWE’s wellness policy. She would then go on to receive her second suspension less than three months later.

Not only was Paige’s wrestling career in jeopardy, but so was her personal life. Her relationship with fellow wrestler Alberto Del Rio came under scrutiny. Del Rio, who is 15 years her senior was considered by many to be a bad influence on the young star. His constant WWE rants on social media had people believing he was trying to sabotage her career.

The couple’s tumultuous romance made news back in June when they were involved in a domestic dispute at an Orlando airport.

Despite the airport incident, the couple stayed together. They continue to show their love and support for each other online. However, that hasn't stopped everyone from speculating about their relationship and blaming Del Rio for her downfall.

Wrestling comeback

Between her neck injury and her personal problems, it appeared that Paige’s WWE career was coming to an end. Yet, the company always left the door open for if/when she wanted to return. The recent announcement that she was training at WWE’s performance center has given hope that she is attempting a comeback.

No word has been given on a potential date for her return. But fans are already voicing their opinion about which show she should be on and who she should feud with. When Paige does return, she’ll be competing with the likes of Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Alexa Bliss. Even though these ladies are currently running the women’s division, Paige will no doubt prove to the crowd that the ring is still “her house.”
