Recently, at SummerSlam, Randy Orton was able to defeat his opponent with just one RKO. Orton is a legendary wrestler when it comes to in-ring performance as he has been wrestling for over 17 years now. He defeated Rusev with just one finishing move by hitting an RKO as soon as the match started and thrilling the entire WWE universe at SummerSlam. Randy Orton is a nine-time WWE Champion and a four-time World Heavyweight Champion, making him a 13-time world champion in the WWE. At age of 24, he became the youngest world champion in WWE history after he won the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time.

The beginning of Orton

Randy Orton is a third generation superstar. His father "Cowboy" Bob Orton is a second generation superstar. Orton signed a deal with the then World Wrestling Federation (WWF) in 2001 and was sent to OVW for training. Orton started appearing in WWF house shows and dark matches and the first match which got televised was against Hardcore Holly where Randy was able to defeat him. There was a series of matches between Orton and Hardcore Holly and in the process, Orton became a fan-favorite. Soon after his Raw debut, he was injured and then he came up with a show where he used to give his health update. This was the time when Orton became a self-centered and narcissistic personality.

Member of Evolution

In the year 2003, Randy Orton joined the "Evolution" stable, which consisted of Ric Flair, Triple H, and fellow newcomer, Batista. Randy Orton became the youngest World Heavyweight champion when he was a part of "Evolution". But later, he was betrayed by the rest of team members. Triple H was the main reason why rest of the members of "Evolution" also decided to betray Orton and the two began feuding for Orton's world title.

Formed Rated-RKO with Edge

There was a time in 2006 when "The Rated-R Superstar" Edge approached Randy to form a new stable with him to tackle Degeneration X. There was a long standing rivalry between DX and Rated-RKO after their coalition. The team of Orton and Edge formed a great heel faction and proved successful in growing hatred amongst the fans.

Formed Legacy

Randy Orton formed a new faction named "Legacy" with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. He got support from Cody and Ted to retain his WWE championship against strong wrestlers such as Batista, John Cena, Triple H, and more.

Jinder took away his championship

Orton was involved in a short term feud with Jinder Mahal where he and Jinder competed in a couple of matches. Randy lost his WWE championship to Jinder Mahal as he got support from "The Singh Brothers" who came from NXT.
