It's a blockbuster trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics with one big problem that could leave the Cavs on the losing end. The Celtics traded isaiah thomas, Jae Crowder, and Ante Zizic for Kyrie Irving, but Thomas has been on the sideline following a hip injury. During a crucial match between the Cavaliers and Celtics in the 2016-2017 NBA finals, he was forced to take the bench and the Celtics ended losing against the Cavs.
Now, the Cleveland Cavaliers franchise in contemplating on the extent of Isaiah Thomas' hip injury and whether they can finally seal the trade.
According to the NYPost, it is not a done deal for the two teams after the Cavs franchise examined the Celtics star. Mulling over their next move, it looks like the team may not be able to capitalize on Thomas' talent next season. While it may seem impossible to trade the two players back, the extent of Isaiah's injury could push the Cavaliers to force an additional draft slot.

Meanwhile, Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas said the trade left Isaiah Thomas emotionally wounded. According to CBS, the older Thomas spoke to MMA fighting's Ariel Helwani wherein, he discussed how he personally talked to Isaiah Thomas. "I spoke to Isaiah yesterday. Emotionally, he's hurt.
Emotionally, he's wounded," he said. Adding that the trade was merely a punch in the gut, Celtics' Thomas did not see the trade coming.
It's now apparent that the Celtics player is concerned about his family's welfare especially his kids. As Isiah Thomas said, the player is deeply hurt after he realized being traded. He poured his heart and soul to the franchise.
Cleveland Cavaliers' next move
But apart from Thomas' emotional turmoil is the gnawing concern about his hip injury. According to the SB Nation, the hip injury did not start on the Cavs vs. Celtics game 2 last season, but two months prior to that. Apparently, the bump that happened during the Eastern Conference aggravated the injury forcing the team to put him on the sidelines.
If the Cleveland Cavaliers think that Thomas' injury will affect the trade, a renegotiation will take effect as agreed upon by both teams. Celtics general manager Danny Ainge during a media conference following the trade confirmed that Isaiah Thomas' hip injury partly one of the reasons why they made the trade.
In July, Kyrie Irving requested a trade that shocked the NBA world. Although the Boston Celtics did not appear on his preferred team, he was eventually traded for Isaiah Thomas and two more stars from the team.
