The offseason is coming to an end as training camps are set to begin next month. The offseason has been a crazy ride so far with Paul Millsap, Chris Paul, Danilo Gallinari, Rudy Gay, Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague, Isaiah Thomas, and Kyrie Irving all moving to new teams for the upcoming season. The NBA also had its share of new rules to improve game flow and a new schedule for next season to keep star players from resting too much. Here are a few more updates on the NBA free agency scene:

Ginobili agrees to multi year deal with the Spurs

When Tim Duncan retired last season the attention shifted to Manu Ginobili, with fans wondering when he would retire as well.

Following last season and his amazing block on James Harden in the playoffs, it seems like Manu Ginobili will be sticking around a few more years in the NBA. Shams Charania of The Vertical reported that the Argentinian guard agreed to a two-year, $5 million deal to stay with the San Antonio Spurs. Ginobili is now 40 years old but despite that, he is still a very solid player off the bench for the Spurs. He is not the old Ginobili but he certainly is not obsolete, and he proved that with the game winning block on Harden in the recent Western Conference Semifinals.

Ginobili has been in the basketball world for a long time now, here are some of his career accomplishments:

  • NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2008
  • Two time All-NBA Third team (2008 and 2011)
  • Olympic Gold Medalist in 2004
  • Two time NBA All-Star (2005 and 2011)
  • Four times NBA Champion (2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014)

Ginobili has NBA career averages of 13.6 points, 0.3 blocks, 1.4 steals, 3.9 assists, and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 44.7 percent from the field, 37 percent from beyond the arc, and 82.6 percent from the free throw line.

The Spurs have been trying really hard to get better this offseason and retaining Manu Ginobili is a great way to end the offseason.

Klay appreciates trade rumors

Klay Thompson has been one of the cores of the NBA Champions the Golden State Warriors and one of the reasons why they have been so successful the past couple of years.

This offseason has been a fairly difficult one with all the trade rumors swirling around him, the Warriors have received offers like Paul George for Klay, and Kyrie Irving for Klay. In an interview with Anthony Slater with the Athletic, Klay was very happy that the trades did no go through as it showed how much the Warriors valued him. Klay also added that trade rumors are good because it means that teams want you and that means you are doing something right.
