With the NBA summer league coming to an end the free agency scene is also about to close, the offseason has been frantic and messy but could very well be the start of a new chapter for the NBA with the league changing in so many aspects. Here are new updates in the NBA free agency.

Pelicans acquire veteran point guard

After the acquisition of DeMarcus Cousins last season it remains to be seen that the New Orleans Pelicans still need a solid point guard who can pass the ball and have tremendous IQ to play point with Cousins and Davis on the floor.

And this offseason they did just that, hoping for a playoff run next season the Pelicans acquire former NBA All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo. Rondo has found his rough share of NBA seasons after a disappointing run with the Mavericks, a short lived duo with Cousins in Sacramento and an occasional DNP role in Chicago. After being waived by the Bulls this offseason, the Pelicans quickly took notice by signing him to a one year deal; rumors also said that Cousins was a big factor that led to Rondo joining the Pelicans. Rondo will be a great fit in New Orleans with his passing skills and the talents of Cousins and Davis, we saw how well Rondo played when he was in Sacramento, and reuniting Rondo and Cousins may be a great move for the Pelicans.

He averaged 11.7 assists, 10.7 points and six rebounds on 45.5% shooting in 72 games with the Kings in 2015.

Nerlens Noel upset with the Dallas Mavericks

With an interview with Eddie Sefko of The Dallas Morning News, Nerlens Noels agent publicly announced their disappointment with the Dallas Mavericks. He said that even before offers came out, Noel already worked out in Dallas for next season, but they never got a serious offer.

Nerlens Noel is a restricted free agent this offseason who got traded from the Sixers to the Dallas Mavericks last February 23 after the NBA All-Star weekend. Noel averaged 8.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 1 steal and block per game in 22 games with the Dallas last season, he then quickly became a starter in Dallas. With Noel and Dallas having disagreements it could be possible that Noel may jump ship next season if Dallas doesn't match offer sheets made to Noel.

Now that offseason is now coming and the NBA season is right around the corner, it seems like a couple of teams have been doing pretty well. One, in particular, is The Los Angeles Lakers: they signed Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, saw how good their draft picks are with Lonzo Ball (summer league MVP) and Kuzma (summer league finals MVP) and seem to be moving in the right direction under magic Johnson.
