The NBA Free Agency is taking its course while many NBA stars are signing up for various teams to progress with their carriers. The latest news is that Anthony Brown has signed up with the Minnesota Timberwolves for a two-way deal. The young NBA star has a long road ahead of him, and Minnesota might just be the right place where he needs to be.

The NBA Free Agency is always exciting for basketball fans. While many players sign up with new teams to take their careers forward, others have been involved in trade rumors. As for Anthony Brown, he is only 24-years-old and has played just 40 games in his NBA career.

Brown might not have the experience, but he certainly does have age as an advantage.

Why did the Minnesota Timberwolves pick Anthony Brown?

The two-way contract with the Wolves will enable Brown to receive an NBA rate while playing in the league. It will also help him to develop in the G-League. Looking at things from the Timberwolves' standpoint, they could surely use some young stars like Brown on the team. That is probably the reason why they picked Anthony Brown.

Back in 2015, he was drafted in the second round by the Los Angeles Lakers. His college career at Stanford for four years was a strong base to advance into NBA. With the Lakers, he had played only 29 games but did not progress to the second year.

That was not all from his NBA career. Last season he played for the New Orleans Pelicans as well as the Orlando Magic.

Will Brown's stats be enough for Minnesota?

The young guard/forward averaged 4.0 points with 2.6 rebounds per game during his college career. However, his D- and now G-League playing has brought him pretty good numbers.

He averaged 20.3 points with 3.1 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game. His shooting percentage was over 46 as he was certainly in good shape in the lower league.

Being the 34th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, he has managed to climb the ladder at a slow pace. That might be because he was stuck on the back bench and shuffled between three different teams.

After playing with the New Orleans Pelicans, Brown was obtained by the Orlando Magic on a 10-day contract. Sadly, the second 10-day contract was not extended by the Pelicans.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are very aware of Anthony Brown's stats and experience. All he needs to do is work alongside his fellow teammates to achieve his NBA milestone. He has played along big superstars and has still managed to carve a niche for himself.
