NBA trade options for Kyrie Irving are still open as six teams have been reportedly attempting to acquire the point guard. Another surprise emerged as the Boston Celtics are also joining the list. But with all trade rumors surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers, there is no guarantee as to who the Cavs will choose.
Each team has started to make their offer for a trade, the Miami Heat had agreed to part way with Justise Winslow and Goran Dragic for Irving and the Cavs seem to still be considering that option. Irving is a strong asset for the Cavaliers, and at this moment he turns out to be a wanted player by six teams.
Scott Perry and Steve Mills have made an offer to the Cavs
Kyrie Irving's trade demands might be drawing to an end as the Cavs need to decide sooner rather than later. New York Knicks President Steve Mills along with General Manager Scott Perry has made an offer to the Cavaliers for Irving. There is no news as to what offer the Knicks have offered the Cavs, but the rumors of New York pursuing Irving is certainly true.
With Mills and Perry involved in the situation, the Knicks have a chance of landing Irving. The question that is still unanswered is who would the Knicks trade for Irving. At this moment, the Knicks are rumored in a trade deal for Carmelo Anthony. However, the Cavaliers might not need Anthony as they could do better with a centerpiece than a power forward.
Kyrie Irving want's to play for New York
Among all the preferences Irving has given the Cavs, the Knicks are reported to be on the top. According to Fansided, Irving wants to play for the Knicks "very badly." The other options are that the Knicks will make a trade for Carmelo to another team to suit the Cavs requirement. Again, that depends on what the Cavs need and who has that potential player to replace Anthony and Irving.
Irving is one of the most talented players in the NBA, that is the sole reason why six teams have approached the Cavs. Once Irving is traded, the teams will miss out on a special opportunity and it could take a long time for them to get the chance for a trade that big once more.
During the 2016-17 NBA season, Irving averaged 25.2 points, with 3.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.2 steals.
That makes him good enough for any team to think of trade options. Recent reports state that two teams which have the potential to land Irving are the Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns. What is certain is that it could not take long for Irving's trade to take place.
