Nobody can stop Mahendra Singh Dhoni when he is in full swing, and the former Indian captain substantiated this fact again as he scored an unbeaten 34 ball 61 which helped the Rising Pune Supergiants to clinch a last ball thrilling victory by six wickets against the mighty Sunrisers Hyderabad in their sixth Ipl 2017 game played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Steve Smith and his boys have now three wins out of the six matches they played, and they are currently decorating the fourth spot in the points table. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad are now in the third position on the point chart.

M S Dhoni proved his killing instinct again

MS Dhoni was considered to be the weakest link in the Rising Supergiants line up till yesterday's match, as he failed to put up a decent show in the opening games of this year's IPL. But yesterday, this took a new turn, and when Mahi showed his full fury, all Hyderabad bowlers and their Captain David Warner were totally clueless on what to do.

Chasing a total of 177, Pune Supergiants faced an initial blow as Ajinkya Rahane was dismissed when the team score was just 15. Later Rahul Tripathi joined hands with Steven Smith and put up a second wicket partnership of 72 runs. But it was Dhoni who took the team to the winning shore by hitting five boundaries and three maximums in his 34 ball innings.

Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad who batted first reached a score of 176 with the help of David Warner (43) and Moises Henriques (55). The score was a competitive one considering the nature of the pitch, but when Dhoni showed his full fury in Pune's home ground, all the efforts of Warner and his boys went in vain.

For the Pune Supergiants, Jaydev Unadkat, Daniel Christian, and Imran Tahir picked one wicket each.

But it was Washington Sundar who stood out in the bowling cards, as he conceded just 19 runs in his three-over spell.
