Saturday night's NBA action featured the best team in the Eastern Conference playing without their two best players. Both LeBron James and Kyrie Irving sat out for the Cleveland Cavs' game against the miami Heat at AmericanAirlines Arena. That allowed the Heat, a team still vying for a playoff spot to take advantage and grab a win in a landslide at their home arena. Here's how Erik Spoelstra's Miami team got it done against the East's top squad on Saturday evening.

Heat hot from three

The other night it was Cleveland who was hitting their threes throughout the game. The Cavs set a single game record with 25 total threes made in the game against Atlanta. In tonight's contest, it was their opponents who found their shot from long range. Miami finished with 52.9 percent three-point shooting as they drained 18 of their 34 attempts.

For Miami, Goran Dragic finished with 23 points on 9-of-12 field goal shooting while teammate Hassan Whiteside had 20 points along with 13 rebounds in the big win. Tyler Johnson came off the bench to finish with 17 points and six rebounds.

LeBron & Kyrie sit out

Both LeBron and Kyrie sat out for rest as the Cavs continue to prepare for the upcoming push towards the postseason. In their absence, the team got 21 points from Channing Frye off the bench. Frey hit 9-of-12 field goal attempts and also had four rebounds.

The Cleveland Cavs' newest acquisition, Deron Williams, got to start with the two stars out. Williams scored 10 points and had seven assists along with five rebounds in the loss. Kyle Korver and Tristan Thompson both finished in double digits, but after the first quarter, Miami went on to outscore the Cavs 85-57 in the next three quarters for the rout.

Standings & what's next

At 29-34, the Miami Heat are just below the Detroit Pistons for the No.

8 spot in the Eastern Conference. The team once looked like they were destined to be in the NBA lottery but has started to turn things around in the second half of the season.

With tonight's loss, Cleveland is now 42-19 on the season and just 2-1/2 games ahead of the Boston Celtics for the lead in the East. Boston plays on Sunday against the Phoenix Suns on the road. They'll host Miami for a rematch on Monday night at 7 p.m. Eastern at Quicken Loans Arena.
