What's next for LA?

Despite having some of the best talent on their roster in the last half decade or so, including the likes of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan, the franchise has struggled to get over the hump and compete at a high level for the most coveted prize in all of basketball. Even if one were to take into account just how stacked the Western Conference is in terms of top-tier talent, the Clippers should have been right in the mix instead of largely falling flat.

As far as the 2016/2017 season goes, the team have managed to pull off one of their better showings in the Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan era.

Still, while their current record of 35-21 at the time of this writing would be good enough for 3rd best in the Eastern Conference, it puts the Clippers at 4th in the West, behind top-tier teams like the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs, and Houston Rockets.

Wilson Chandler a possible addition?

The Los Angeles Clippers have expressed interest in acquiring the services of Wilson Chandler, according to the latest NBA Trade Rumors from CBS sports. At 6'8, the veteran player is a combo guard that can play at both the 3 and the 4, which would give the Los Angeles Clippers a lot of versatility in terms of what they'd want to do out on the floor. Having someone like Wilson Chandler out on the floor and in a Clippers uniform would mean that the team could play small ball if they decided to do so, maybe even incorporate a bit of run-and-gun into their offense.

Still, even with the potential addition of someone like Wilson Chandler to the roster, there is no getting around the fact that LA will still have to compete with the likes of the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs in the highly competitive Western Conference. So, even with the great start that LA has had so far this season, it seems as though they may still be destined for the middle of the pack. Either way, with the NBA trade deadline fast approaching, we will know soon enough.
