It hasn’t been the most pleasant of waits for the collective fandom of what is arguably the most loved and celebrated animated television show of our time, "Rick and Morty". From what was the best season so far, Season 3 has been a cliffhanger, leaving fans eager for a resolution. The show has done what most modern television shows fail to do, to keep the fandom coming back for more. It is also highly debatable that the show has lost any fans at all over the past year of its hiatus, in fact, the sheer popularity of it has garnered more loyal in its favor.

The wait, however, has come to a fitting end with absolute rejoice from the fans.

The Lore of Four

"Rick and Morty" co-creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland reached out to their fans via Twitter making the much awaited official announcement. Season 4 of the show will debut in November.

Season three of "Rick and Morty" not only cemented why the hit show is the pop culture phenomenon that it has become but also proved to be the best season yet. The season took fans on an emotional journey, ending, as usual, with a mother of all cliffhangers. The final episode of season three has left fans hungry to see what season four has to offer.

Only making the wait more painful, there has been no special episode of the series to air yet, such as the debut of the third season titled “The Rickshank Rickdemption” on the April Fool's Day of 2017.

To the comfort of many fans, the series has been confirmed for 70 more episodes, promising more than a few seasons ahead of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland’s science fiction hit.

Despite the confirmation of more episodes to come, season four’s release date remained a mystery for a good chunk of its production. Dan Harmon has also confirmed that after the end of the much awaited season 4, the hiatuses will be comparatively shorter, minimizing the agony of the fans. New episodes will air on the Adult Swim website as always.

The torture of the wait has finally come to an end with this announcement. The upcoming season, as well as the ridiculously good reruns, which fans are sure to not want to miss, are set to air on Channel 4.

A forecast of things to come

As far as the upcoming season is concerned, one may hope to find resolve in questions that may have bugged them throughout the length of season 3. Fans are still curious of the state Rick Sanchez and his cybernetic enhancements, as they are about the origins of Evil Morty and his schemes. Morty from Earth C-137 seems to be evolving into someone we’d have least expected, and his involvement in all this is yet to be known. Also, the infamous scene with the Cthulhu during the opening credits is an absolute mystery.

In true fashion, it’s difficult to know what to expect from this season. Whether our questions will be answered or only multiplied, is yet to be known. This, however, is one of the qualities that make the hit series worth coming back to season after season. Until then, Wubba Lubba Dub Dub!
