Erin Krakow is the leading lady on “When Calls the Heart” and she is also the self-professed “biggest Heartie” of all when it comes to being proud of her work and that of her castmates. The star is a favorite on the Hallmark Channel’s “Home & Family.”

She has stopped by the morning show several times through the past few weeks, bringing “When Calls the Heart” fans the best news of all.

Looking like a burst of spring, Erin Krakow delivered the assuring news that the drama would resume Season 6 on May 5, and reward its faithful with the gift of a follow-up new episode on May 6. Brian Bird also agrees that great things are coming.

The very next week, Erin Krakow gave the next news bulletin, declaring that Season 7 of “When Calls the Heart” was a done deal for the network. Every Heartie on the planet breathed a big sigh of relief. The saga of Hope Valley and its people standing firm in faith and for each other will carry on for the foreseeable future.

On May 3, Erin Krakow had another brief visit on “Home & Family,” per MSN entertainment and ETOnline.

The beautiful brunette was brimming over with promising couples’ news for the rest of Season 6. She also snuck in a little tidbit regarding Season 7 for her character of Elizabeth Thornton. Love is definitely on the horizon for the beloved mother and teacher.

Perfect pairings

“It wouldn't be ‘When Calls the Heart’ without budding romances,” gushed Krakow, smiling from the familiar set. She began to describe the relationship of Dr. Carson Shepherd (Paul Greene) and his nurse, Faith (Andrea Brooks). Though the two have confessed their love to each other, they both are reticent to share with the community that knows everything about everybody, especially when both share the same building and patients all day.

The couple Jesse and Clara (Aren Buchholz and Eva Bourne) are beginning again after a break from each other instigated by the young widow future home. Now, both seem truly committed to a future together, and have even committed funds to their homestead. Young love has its share of trials, and there are sure to be tender moments, and more weddings, through these blossoming relationships.

Co-host Debbie Matenopoulos couldn’t wait to move Erin Krakow off of Season 6 and onto Season 7, and she had a very good reason.

Open to love

“We haven't seen scripts yet,” commented Krakow. The star was short on specifics but did say that everyone was “thrilled” to know that “When Calls the Heart” will have its seventh season on Hallmark.

Without giving away the “who” or “how” of romance in Elizabeth Thornton’s future, Erin Krakow did say that the teacher will take “a big step” in Season 7. The star suggests that the working mother is “ready to open herself to potential love.”

This brave step forward and a leap of faith is also the fulfillment of a promise to Jack, Elizabeth’s heroic late husband, who sacrificed himself to spare his Mounties in training. In the letter he left for his bride, he made her promise that she would find love again.

Two dashing newcomers have decided to make Hope Valley their home. One is the new Mountie in town, Nathan Grant, portrayed by Kevin McGarry, who will make his official arrival in the May 5 episode.

The other is the new saloon owner, Lucas Bouchard, portrayed by Chris McNally. He already has a fancy for Elizabeth, and while she appreciates his charm, she is not rushing into new relationships, choosing to stay focused on her darling baby Jack.

Seeing how love and life unfold for Elizabeth and the other loved characters of “When Calls the Heart” is what makes the family-friendly drama a favorite for all ages. Everyone wants to be transported to Hope Valley for the adventure, just like Erin Krakow.
