Spoilers alerts are announcing a big casting change that involves two daytime dramas. Gina Tognoni has been fired from "The Young and the Restless" and will be replaced by Michelle Stafford, who originated the role of Phyllis. No details have come forth as to why Stafford was let go and there has been no word on how "General Hospital" will deal with Nina who is currently in a front-burner storyline. There possibly may be a recast because of the Sasha storyline and Willow possibly being Nina's long lost daughter. Celeb Dirty Laundry and Soap Opera Spy both promise updates regarding this shocking news when information becomes available.

'G H' fans in limbo regarding Michelle Stafford

CDL and Soap Opera Spy both confirm that Gina Tognoni has been released from her role as Phyllis on "The Young and the Restless." At this time the details of her being let go are not available. The fact that Michelle Stafford has agreed to come back is also a shocker because she is a popular "General Hospital" character who is involved in several front-burner storylines as Nina.

On Friday, Maxie was about to reveal the results of the DNA test she had done on Sasha, so It looks like Valentin's deception is about to come to light. There is also the possibility that Willow could be Ninas true long lost daughter, so once Michelle Stafford leaves, "General Hospital" would need to recast the role in order to carry out the plots to completion.

'Y&R' should explain the firing of Gina Tognoni

Fans of "The Young and the Restless" will no doubt be thrilled to have the original Phyllis back in Genoa City. Even so, the shock of Gina Tognoni being fired and Michelle Stafford returning to take her place will cause shock waves. Viewers will demand to know what happened, and rightly so.

The PTB should give the answers the fans deserve. Earlier CDL spoilers teased that Phyllis may reunite with Jack once Kerry and Ashley are out of the picture, but if she is ousted as Jabot CEO there is no telling what direction the story will take.
