Spoiler alerts for ” The Young and the Restless” indicate that Doug Davidson fans will soon have another reason to be offended. Paul Williams will not be around to solve the most recent case that he has been working on, which is the unsolved murder of J. T. Helstrom. Since Mal Young took over as head writer, Chief Williams has faded into the woodwork and has been unable to get any leads on what happened to J. T. Now, however, newcomer Rey Rosales, who was seen sitting in Paul’s chair, will be the one to put all the clues together. He will figure out what happened to Victoria’s ex-husband and Celeb Dirty Laundry indicates that he may eventually end up protecting Sharon when the truth is revealed.

Rey is hot on the trail that Paul left cold

Soap Dirt spoilers indicate that Rey is hot on the trial of the cover-up crew, so it's likely that he is the one who sent threatening letters to Victoria and Nikki. Paul should have been the one to finalize the J. T. case but now the new detective will get the glory. Earlier spoilers quoted Mal Young ad saying Rosales came to Genoa City because he could bring a fresh perspective to the situation. ”Y&R” fans had no idea Rey was going to take Paul”s place.

Spoilers confirm the agenda that Mal Young set in motion when he said he was taking ”The Young and the Restless” in a new direction. Rey is obviously going to become a super cop while Paul is being put out to pasture.

There is no logical way that detective Rosales, being a newcomer, could possibly put the clues together and solve this case, so quickly but according to Soap Dirt he will.

Rey will bring down the cover-up gang

It’s not clear how detective Rosales, the new man at GCPD was able to give Sharon a job but he did with no obvious approval from his boss.

Celeb Dirty Laundry teases that Sharon will turn to Paul’s new hire to ease the pain of breaking up with Nick. The spoiler indicates that when Rey solves the murder, he will go out of his way to protect Sharon.

If she cracks and tells detective Rosales what happened to J. T. Rey, may point out that Sharon will not face murder charges because it was Nikki who used the poker to kill him.

Spoilers say that Rey is going to bring down the cover-up gang, which indicates that Paul is most likely long gone. Fans are petitioning for his return but so far there is no indication that Mal Young and CBS will comply. Keep watching ”Y&R” weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST and be on the lookout for updated spoilers.
