Spoiler alerts for “The Young and the Restless” reveal that Peter Bergman has admitted to being devastated at Eileen Davidson's decision to leave the show. In an interview, the actor said he was experiencing double sorrow, from losing his longtime coworker as well as his television sister. Davidson’s last air date will be October 29 which means the two stopped filming scenes together in September. Virwers will only have three episodes left to see this duo interact with each other. This will truly be the end of an era where Jack and Ashley along with the rest of the Abbotts have dominated Genoa City.
Peter Bergman admits to being heartbroken
According to Soap Dirt, Peter Bergman was very candid regarding his feelings for the woman who has portrayed his on screen sister for decades. The actor says he is heartbroken to be losing both Ashley and Eileen. The Abbott family has been front and center in Genoa City since the 1980’s and Jack and Ashley’s unique relationship on ”The Young and the Restless” has reigned supreme, In spite of intense feuds related to the company founded by John Abbott, the siblings have always fiound a way to reconcile.
Soap Dirt points out that even though Eileen Davidson says she is leaving “Y&R,” for good, she has exited and returned to Genoa City several times in the past.
Peter Bergman did not address his costar possibly returning and his sorrow seems to indicate he might believe this time Ashley is gone for good. Davidson’s departure comes during a time of turmoil for the show, but she has not indicated whether or not her deciding to leave is related.
Y&R May shock viewers with new Jabot CEO
Once Eileen Davidson departs the big question to ask is who will be her successor at Jabot? Celeb Dirty Laundry teases that “The Young and the Restless” might take advantage of the fact that The Blood Abbott Clause has been abolished and put Phyllis in the CEO seat. The spoiler suggests that Jack may take some time away from the family company to re-evaluate his actions that have led to his sibling leaving town.
This indicates that at least on screen, Ashley’s departure will not cause the kind of devastation that will stop the infighting.
Peter Bergman will feel the loss of Eileen Davidson for quite a while, but Jack will not be able to mourn long for Ashley. If CDL is correct and Phyllis is named CEO, then Billy and Kyle willl no doubt be infuriated and plot ways to take her down. Be on the lookout for updated spoilers related to the infighting of the Abbotts and continue to watch “The Young and the Restless” weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST.
