The latest updates and potential spoilers for "Avengers 4" reveal a classic Iron Man weapon in the sequel. Instagram page Thegeekpower2 posted a photo revealing an unfinished version of the Proton Cannon and it will be used to defeat Thanos in the movie.

There is also another leaked description of the sequel's trailer hinting a team-up between Tony Stark and Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel). The fourth movie is said to take place five years after "Avengers: Infinity War" as the surviving heroes must work together one last time to stop Thanos and save the whole universe from the effects of the Infinity Stones.

Proton Cannon teaser

According to Comic Book Resources, Thegeekpower2's photo revealed an unfinished device inside the Avenger's main headquarters and it said to be the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of the Proton Cannon. The popular Iron Man weapon was first seen in the comics and made headlines in Capcom fighting games such as "Marvel Superheroes" and "Marvel vs. Capcom" franchise.

Strangely enough, the Proton Cannon made a small cameo in "Infinity War" when James "Rhodey" Rhodes (War Machine) was at a meeting with General Ross, discussing what they must do with Thanos's forces after Tony left Earth. The weapon will likely be used as a last-ditch effort to match the Mad Titan and the power of his Infinity Gauntlet.

New superhero team-up

According to Express UK, a second trailer description for "Avengers 4" teased a new superhero team-up between Iron Man and Captain Marvel. The previous description hinted Tony's plan of time travel by using the Quantum Realm, and Scott Lang (Ant-Man) will help him achieve it.

The second description will have all of the heroes helping each other to find Thanos and undo the effects of the Infinity Gauntlet.

Tony is now the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Captain Marvel joins the fray. There are also other character interactions such as Rocket and Rhodey, and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) and Bruce Banner (The Hulk).

Thanos will put on his armor and wielding a new double edge sword, will assemble a massive army against the heroes. There is also a major battle taking place in Xandar and Thor urges everyone that they need an army big enough to match Thanos's forces.

Captain America will wear a new suit complete with classic chainmail and his old vibranium shield. Rocket will also unveil white matching suits for the team in order to survive in space.

"Avengers 4" will premiere in cinemas on May 3, 2019.
