Fans of "The Young and the Restless" have been voicing their fears that one of their favorite characters may be gone, for good, from Genoa City. Ever since Eric Braeden announced he was taking a month-long break from the show, speculation has been growing that he was the next veteran of the daytime drama who would be leaving. This is because Eileen Davidson, Christian LeBlanc and Doug Davidson are no longer a part of the cast. Celeb Dirty Laundry spoilers say Braeden announced to his followers via Twitter that he is on vacation in his native Germany visiting family.
He emphasized as he has several times previously that he will not be leaving the place where he has worked for 38 years.
Victor will remain in Genoa City
Eric Braeden has recently been voicing his displeasure on social media regarding changes that have taken place on "The Young and the Restless". Doug Davidson was fired, Eileen Davidson has chosen to leave her role, and Christian LeBlanc is out but the reason why is unclear. Fans initially believed the timing of Braeden's hiatus indicated that he would not return to the daytime drama but he insisted on Twitter that Victor Newman will remain in Genoa City.
Spoiler alerts indicate that executive producer/head writer Mal Young is taking heat because he is the one changing history as well as the cast on "The Young and the Restless." Angry fans have called for CBS to fire him as ratings have decreased since Young has been determining the fate of Geno City residents.
Now that Eric Braeden has been bold enough to speak out, there will probably be additional fallout related to the show.
Eric Braeden may improve Genoa City
Soap Dirt is reporting that Eric Braeden tweeted that he is begging those in charge of "The Young and the Restless" to "stop the madness," and his comments will have one of two effects.
The first? The man who portrays Victor Newman will be heeded, and changes will come to improve what is going on in Genoa City. Perhaps Paul and Michael may even soon be back on screen.
The second possibility is that in spite of Eric Braeden insisting that his will return to Genoa City, the management may not like his being so outspoken.
They could demote him to recurring status or decide to not renew his contract and Victor would be gone with the wind. Be on the lookout for spoilers to update this unpleasant situation and keep watching "The Young and the Restless" weekday afternoons on CBS at 12:30 PM EST.
