The first teaser of the highly anticipated Hindi movie "2.0" starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar was released on Thursday, September 13, 2018, via the Youtube channels of Lyca Productions and Dharma Productions.

On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar released the first glimpses of his upcoming VFX-heavy flick with Thailaivar Rajinikanth which has a very distinct style of visual effects compared to one of the recent big-budget VFX films, "Baahubali."

The teaser released in various languages on YouTube garnered a whopping 35 million views.

About the movie

The movie will be directed by S. Shankar, who also directed the first installment of the series back in 2010, namely, "Enthiran." Rajini is again playing double roles as the Robot Chitti and Dr. Vaseegaran in the film.

In the teaser, we see Chitti coming back alive from hibernation, tormenting around the city, created by Dr. Richard aka Akshay Kumar, the antagonist.

Along with the two superstars, the movie also features Adil Hussain, Sudhanshu Pandey, and Amy Jackson in pivotal roles. AR Rahman has composed the music for the movie.

The film will release in two languages, Tamil and Hindi. The Lyca Productions will be the distributors for the Tamil version while popular Hindi filmmaker Karan Johar's Dharma Productions will be the distributors for the Hindi variant.

The costliest Indian movie ever

Shankar's "2.0" being the most expensive movie made in the history of Indian Cinema leaves behind the box-office collection of Aamir Khan's all-time blockbuster "Dangal"; which grossed around Rs 328 crores ($45 million) during its national run.

In fact, according to HindustanTimes, the movie has been made on a budget of over Rs 500 crores ($70 million), which so far has been unheard of as far as Indian Movies are concerned.

But, still, "2.0" hasn't reached the hype of SS Rajamouli’s "Baahubali" films.

Though it might just be the teaser which did not come out to be that spectacular in terms of its VFX, we still have the film to be released soon this year.

Well, let's cross our fingers and hope for the best because no matter what, fans went crazy watching the teaser of "2.0."

The makers have also announced that 2.0 would be the first Indian film to be shot in 3D.

The movie has been given a date of November 29, 2018, for its release, so we can expect a full trailer of the movie soon arriving on the internet.
