Actor Bruce Willis is the star of the classic American action series "Die Hard." He is a decorated and well-known celebrity in Hollywood, but he is most famous for his role in the "Die Hard franchise." The actor will be reprising his role in the upcoming movie, which will be the sixth entry in the series. Details regarding the direction of the film were recently revealed by producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, according to MovieWeb.

Simplicity

The next film in the series will be called "McClane" instead of being called "Die Hard 6" or "Die Hard: Year One." Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and his team want people to be invested in the main character, and naming the film after said main character certainly gets that point across.

The producer also noted that the upcoming film will flip back and forth between the younger version of the character and the older version. The audience will be able to view both sides. Fans are still in the dark when it comes to plot details for the film, but those details will likely come out sooner rather than later.

The original title was supposed to be "Die Hard: Year One," although it was scratched. While that would have also been an appropriate title, as mentioned above, it seems that those involved with the project really wanted to get the point across that this film would focus on the main character.

That said, this would not be the only instance of actors returning to the roles that made them famous, as Tom Cruise is set to appear in the upcoming "Top Gun" sequel.

A big role in the upcoming film

Bruce Willis is in his sixties now, but even so, the actor will have a big role in the upcoming film. Rumors are pointing to the film going back to a young John McClane prior to the events of the first film in the franchise, when he was a beat cop in the 70's.

Producer Bonaventura said: "I don't know how you do Die Hard without Bruce.

The idea that he's not very significant in this movie is not accurate at all. We are gonna explain John McClane in his twenties. But just as prominent is the 60-year-old version."

The first entries in the series have done very well, but the last couple of films have been lackluster with a weak script and story. The first couple of Movies in the series are the most interesting, with a regular cop saving the day. There is no official word on a release date for the next film.

Apparently, Bruce Willis will have a say in who they cast as the younger version of John McClane.
