The latest updates and spoilers for the live-action "Venom" movie reveal the main villain and the possibility of Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock meeting Tom Holland's Spider-Man. Sony Pictures Entertainment was present at this year's San Diego Comic-Con event as they showcased their line-up of film projects.

The film stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, a journalist who is investigating illegal human experiments conducted by the Life Foundation by using alien symbiotes.

One of the aliens manage to escape with Eddie and begins to attach to him. This allows him to transform into a monster and he fights Life Foundation and the other symbiote-infected hosts.

Venom and Spider-Man will meet someday

According to Screen Rant, "Venom" director Ruben Fleischer teased audiences during their Comic-Con panel about Eddie Brock meeting Peter Parker "at some point" down the road. While Fleischer did not elaborate any further details about how will they meet, it is safe to say that the doors are open for new possibilities since Spider-Man had a big influence on Venom in the comics.

Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige, stated in a previous interview that the live-action "Venom" film is not included in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it's not part of the deal they made with Sony Picture Entertainment. However, they do not have the final say as Sony still owns the big screen rights of the "Spider-Man" license, and they can pretty much do whatever they want with it.

For now, Sony will promote the film alongside "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and they will premiere in the fall this year. Marvel Studios is also working on the "Spider-Man: Homecoming" sequel, "Far From Home."

Fleischer stated that the film will focus more on Eddie's relationship with his symbiote as they must struggle to work together to beat the Life Foundation.

Hardy compared their relationship to the "Ren and Stimpy" cartoon show.

Riz Ahmed as Riot

According to Movie Web, Fleischer confirmed that Riz Ahmed's character, Carlton Drake will bond with his own symbiote and become the monster, Riot. He will be Eddie's main opponent in the "Venom" movie.

Riot will also have the ability to control other symbiote-bonded humans and they will use them as pawns for whatever diabolical plans they have. The film director also teased that there are more villains that will show up in the movie, but they will not give it away too easily and urged the fans to find out for themselves when they watch it.
