When the Original family was introduced in "The Vampire Diaries," they were typical vampire villains who had to be stopped by the Mystic Falls bunch. The characters were so popular they received their own series. The spin-off series allowed fans a chance to see the Original family with more depth and heart. Klaus (Joseph Morgan, who hinted at Caroline and Klaus rekindling their love) was the ultimate bad guy but was slowly turned into more of an anti-hero than a villain. When showrunner Julie Plec announced the end of the series, it was a bittersweet feeling as no one was ready to see their favorite vampires go.

Good news for fans: the CW decided to pick up the spin-off "Legacies," which will follow Klaus' daughter Hope (Danielle Rose Russell), along with three notable faces introduced in "The Vampire Diaries."

Julie Plec has treated fans to several teases over the past few months, but nothing is as dire as teasing that more deaths are on the way. The series has already seen three big deaths, along with several minor ones. The biggest was the death of Hayley, who sacrificed herself to stop Greta and save her daughter. Episode 9 took a dire turn when the vampires attacked and killed werewolves to keep them from marching in the parade, which ended with an attack against Vincent through the death of Ivy and several other witches.

While it's been noted that Hope will headline “Legacies,” no word has been shared on if any of the others will make an appearance.

Davina's back! Keelin and Freya wedding!

A lot has happened in "The Originals" Season 5 so far. “The Originals” will return July 11 with the episode “There in the Disappearing Light.” In the episode, Klaus will be teaching Hope how to unconventionally cope with her pain; like how Klaus does everything.

Meanwhile, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) will go up against the nightwalkers, while Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) deals with the consequences of a decision.

Among all the war is the joyous wedding between Freya (Riley Voelkel) and Keelin (Christina Moses). The episode will focus on their wedding, which will make any longtime fan worried.

“The Vampire Diaries” had a long history of parties and weddings ending in disaster. The fiery wedding of Caroline (Candice King) and Stefan, which occurred just hours before Stefan (Paul Wesley) sacrificed himself, was how the series ended. The most notable and heartbreaking, was Alaric's wedding to Jo, which ended with an attack by Kai (Chris Wood). Not only did the wedding have the loss of Jo, but it also led to Nina Dobrev's exit from the series. With Hope having taken back the Hollow and the vampires attacking anyone with werewolf genes, it gives plenty of reason to assume this wedding could have some chaos.

Entertainment Weekly shared first-look photos from the episode, airing July 18, which show a happy Keelin and Freya, with Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) appearing to officiate and Hope appearing to serve as maid of honor.

The other photo shows Klaus and Freya in a serious conversation, with Freya in her wedding dress and a bouquet in her hands. For fans wondering when Davina (Danielle Campbell) will return to New Orleans, they don't have to worry any longer. The synopsis for Episode 11 “Till the Day I Die” reveals Klaus will turn to Davina for help. Elsewhere in the episode, Keelin and Freya have to make a decision for their future, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) will deal with a memory of Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), and Declan (Torrance Coombs) will become more curious about all the supernatural happenings of New Orleans which will involve Marcel needing to step in.

Klaus needs Caroline's help

Candice King returns in Episode 12 “The Tale of Two Wolves.” In order to save his daughter from an affliction slowly killing her, Klaus makes his way to Mystic Falls to ask for Caroline's help.

However, all may not go according to plan when he runs into Alaric (Matt Davis). Hinting at a possible rekindling between uncle and niece, the description teases that Elijah will be keeping his niece occupied and in doing so he'll have a heartbreaking realization. Fans have been patiently waiting to see where Klaroline will go and should find out by the series finale if the couple will actually get a happy ending like Klaus promised back on "The Vampire Diaries."
