Details about the final bow of “The Originals” Season 5 are now emerging, thanks to the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2017. As the television series is about to say goodbye following “The Vampire Diaries” conclusion, it looks like things will be more intense this time.
As the cast members confirmed that there is a wedding happening, fans are also expecting the rekindling romance of Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice King). The coming of King is already confirmed to reprise her role from “TVD.” And as she is one of the major roles of The Original show, will she also be playing big in its spin-off series?
A rekindle romance
In an interview with the show’s executive producer Julie Plec with the Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old writer teased that Candice King might be having a larger role in “The Originals” Season 5.
Caroline is now the headmistress of Salvatore Boarding School, where the daughter of Klaus, Hope (Danielle Rose Russell) will be studying. Thus, it is not impossible that the two almost-lovers are going to see each other again.
And because she already knew him for so long, Julie Plec explained that "she has a perspective on him and the way that he's living his life right now." Now that they are going to meet again, will there be a rekindle love brewing?
To recall, Caroline and Klaus had a steamy romance in “The Vampire Diaries.” And as there will be a 10-year time jump since the original series ended, she might be now fully moved on from the death of her husband Stefan (Paul Wesley).
Is she now ready to love again?
In a separate interview (via Seventeen), Joseph Morgan, who plays the role of Klaus, believed that their love would be given a second chance. "I suspected there might be something more to this story,” he said. He also explained that there is a feeling of unfinished business about their romance.
The wedding and returning characters
Meanwhile, in another interview with TV Line at SDCC 2017, the show’s cast members talked about a wedding of Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and Davina (Danielle Campbell) in “The Originals” Season 5.
“It happened off-screen,” Joseph Morgan teased. However, he hinted that this scene is cut away and they only had a photo shoot with People magazine.
Although he might be just making fun of it, it looks like Julie Plec is dead serious when she said that fans could assume that the wedding already took place.
She also added that when “The Vampire Diaries” ended, they have made a wish list of all the people they wanted to see before its spin-off comes to an end. So, Davina, Kol, and Rebekah (Claire Holt) will be once again seen. Also, Keelin (Christina Moses) will be back in some episodes.
