"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" updates and spoilers reveal new Marvel characters being added in the animated film. Sony Pictures Entertainment and Marvel streamed the second trailer of the film. In it, Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales meets the original web-head himself, Peter Parker along with a new cast of supporting characters, iconic villains, and a fan-favorite spider heroine.

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" revolves around the life of a high school student, Miles Morales who has been bitten by a different genetically altered spider and receives superhuman abilities.

He will don the mantle of Spider-Man to defend New York from new threats with a little help from Peter.

New 'Into the Spider-Verse' trailer streamed

The new "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" trailer started with Miles Morales getting ready for school and he took a ride from his dad, Jefferson Davis who works as a New York City policeman. Miles narrates that there are different alternate universes that looks the same on the outside but very different in perspective. He stumbled across an abandoned underground lab as he witnessed a fight between Spidey and the Ultimate Green Goblin.

Miles was saved by Peter and quickly discovered that they have the same powers. This version of Peter is from the main universe as he asked Miles for money since he does not have his wallet.

Peter begins to teach Miles how to become a hero like him but has to do it on his own terms.

Both Spider-Men will battle not just Ultimate Green Goblin, but other foes such as Wilson Fisk a.k.a. The Kingpin of Crime and Mile's criminal uncle, Aaron Davis a.k.a. Prowler. The trailer ends with them meeting Gwen Stacy a.k.a. Spider-Gwen as Miles asked how many of "them" are out there.

Peter comically tells him that he will find out at Comic-Con.

Enter Spider-Gwen

Gwen Stacy is the third spider-powered hero to join Peter and Miles in "Into the Spider-Verse" voiced by "Pitch Perfect" movie actress Hailee Steinfeld. It is unknown if Gwen is from Mile's universe or from another alternate universe like Peter.

In the Marvel comics, Gwen Stacy was bitten by a radioactive arachnid and gained powers. She donned a white costume, named herself Spider-Woman and she afterward protects her city from crime. However, her career as a heroic vigilante was tarnished after she was accused of killing her world's Peter after he died and became the Lizard. She still continues to be a hero while being on the run from police, being led by her dad, Captain George Stacy.
