The latest updates and spoilers for "Ant-Man and The Wasp" reveal the film's connection to the events of "Avengers: Infinity War" and its follow-up, "Avengers 4." The film's main actor, Paul Rudd, has revealed details about the film during his guest appearance at "The Late Show with Seth Mayer." There is also a new TV spot that features Michael Pena's character, Luis, recapping the events of the first film leading to the sequel's main story.

The sequel will take place after the events of "Captain America: Civil War," as Scott Lang is now under house arrest as part of a deal made by the government and the Sokovia Accords.

He soon returns to crime fighting to help Hank and Hope Pym save Janet Van Dyne from the Quantum Realm and face a new foe, The Ghost.

'Infinity War' connection confirmed

According to Screen Rant, Paul Rudd told Seth Meyer on his talk show that the events of "Ant-Man and The Wasp" may tie-in with what is happening in "Avengers: Infinity War," and people must stay in the post-credits scenes to see the connection. "I don't know if I'm supposed to say it but I'll say it, it happens kind of concurrently. It's very important because it doesn't exist in a vacuum," Rudd said. "You have to stay through the end because when you see this thing, through those post-credit scenes, there's mind-blowing stuff that ties into Infinity War."

Reddit username DinaHamza07 claimed in a subreddit post that the credit scene will feature the entire Pym family turning to ash after the "Thanos Snap" in "Infinity War." Scott is the only survivor in the aftermath and seeks help from the Avengers in the fourth film.

The heroes have failed to stop Thanos from completing the Infinity Stones and resulted in a universe-wide genocide that killed Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and more.

Ant-Man, along with Clint Barton and Captain Marvel, will be featured in "Avengers 4," as he joins Earth Mightiest Heroes in their last attempt at defeating Thanos and his forces.

'Ant-Man' recap trailer

A new TV spot for "Ant-Man and The Wasp" featured a hilarious recap of the events from the first film to the sequel, as told by Scott's friend, Luis. The video starts with Luis meeting Scott in prison for the first time. The next scene shows the first "Ant-Man" film, where Scott got out of prison to see his daughter, Cassie.

The trailer also saw Scott joining Captain America's forces as they fought against Iron Man's team and his first attempt at growing into Giant-Man. Hope is disappointed in Scott and mocks him for his troubles.
