Marvel Studios had a massive hit film in theaters this past May with "Avengers: Infinity War," and has "Ant-Man and The Wasp" coming out in July. They're hoping for more success from their "Ant-Man" sequel, which reportedly takes place around the same time as "Infinity War." Recently, Marvel Studios' president Kevin Feige confirmed that idea and even dropped some hints as to it happening more in their future Movies. For those who have yet to see "Avengers: Infinity War," spoilers may follow.

Ant-Man's whereabouts

There were some noticeable superheroes missing from the "Infinity War" film, which took place two years after "Captain America: Civil War." In that Captain America film, Scott Lang (aka Ant-Man) and Clint Barton (aka Hawkeye) were both fighting as part of the Avengers' battle.

However, neither of these heroes had a presence whatsoever in "Infinity War." Hawkeye was alluded to during the movie as being off on a separate mission, apart from the rest of his teammates.

As far as Ant-Man goes, it appears moviegoers will get an idea of his whereabouts during the events of "Infinity War" when they see "Ant-Man and The Wasp." It's basically going to fast-forward two years into Lang's life after the conclusion of the "Civil War" movie. That has been reported by Uproxx, among other websites.

Kevin Feige recently commented about the whole Ant-Man situation.

He mentioned that in "Civil War" it was more of a "fun cameo" for the superhero, who came out to help other heroes. However, his real life aside from being Ant-Man involves his relationship with his daughter as well Hank and Hope. So in the new film, fans will see that Scott Lang (Ant-Man) has been on a two-year house arrest.

'Infinity War' timeline matches up

The fact that the "Infinity War" timeline matches up precisely with "Ant-Man and The Wasp" helps with the continuity of the storyline and has some serious potential. In another spoiler, at the end of "Infinity War," viewers saw the villain Thanos snap his fingers once he obtained all of the Infinity Stones for his Gauntlet.

That simple snap resulted in half of the world's population being wiped out. Could that include Ant-Man or The Wasp? Based on Thanos' actions, Marvel could have something in store during the new "Ant-Man" film. Uproxx seems to believe there won't be too many tie-ins, though.

However, it seems possible that one or both of these characters will be part of the "Avengers 4" movie. It also seems like the new "Ant-Man" movie is going to cover topics that could be key to how the Avengers defeat Thanos.

In addition to all of that, Kevin Feige mentioned that The Wasp could have a big role in future Marvel films. He said that there has "already been additional Wasp filming of her for future movies."

That seems to indicate that she will appear in the "Avengers 4" movie. It's not far-fetched to assume Ant-Man will also rise to the occasion to help defeat Thanos. There had been some previous set photos which seemed to show Paul Rudd on set with other surviving members of the Avengers team.

All of that said, the timeline match-ups seem like they could be a fun way to tie together future superhero films for the MCU. "Ant-Man and The Wasp" arrives on July 6 with Marvel fans anxious to see what's in store for these two heroes.
