The latest updates and spoilers for the live-action "Venom" movie reveal more symbiote characters and Eddie Brock's status in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film will star Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, a news reporter who is investigating the Life Foundation for evidence on illegal human experimentation using an alien organism. Eddie was affected by the same organism, which gave him strange powers and it is speaking to him directly.

They are forced to work together to stop the Life Foundation and its CEO Carlton Drake (played by Riz Ahmed) from creating more symbiote-powered people before they take over San Francisco and the rest of the world.

Venom part of the MCU

"Avengers: Infinity War" co-director Joe Russo confirmed that Venom will not be a part of the MCU after answering fan questions in Iowa City High. Russo stated that the "Venom" movie is the "property" of Sony and has to be careful of his answers so that he will not get fans hopes up.

Marvel fans are hoping that Eddie Brock will be part of the MCU since Sony and Marvel Studio made a deal to have Spider-Man in the same universe as the Avengers, but it will not likely happen in the future. While Peter Parker will make an appearance in the movie he will not be his alter-ego and the details on how Sony will present the latter in the story is still unknown.

"Venom" is part of Sony's Spider-Man spin-off film projects which include the animated film, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" and "Black and Silver" film featuring Black Cat and Silver Sable.

The story will feature Hardy's character solving the mystery behind the Life Foundation's illegal experiments but ends up getting a symbiote himself.

Eddie is now hunted by the organization and he has no choice but to use the symbiote inside him to become the ultimate anti-hero.

Other symbiote characters

The 'Venom" trailer also revealed that there are multiple symbiote infected subjects inside Life Foundation.

This will likely tease fans that there are more symbiote characters in the movie. In the comics, the organization created five symbiote children - Scream, Agony, Phage, Lasher, and Riot. These five monster characters can combine with one another to become Hybrid.

It is rumored that "Zombieland" star Woody Harrelson will play Cletus Cassidy, a serial killer who will become the deadly symbiote villain, Carnage. His appearance will set-up the events for the next movie, but for now, Eddie will have to deal with Carlton Drake and his organization to stop a possible alien invasion on the planet.
